Transfering posts to another website

I have a very broad website but want to narrow it down. I have a domain name that I think is perfect and want to move some of my posts and pages to the new website. What are the repercussions of doing this such as SEO impact? Is there an easy way to do it? Do I have to set up redirects? At this point, I plan to keep the original website as there is other applicable content on there.
I would appreciate it if those who have done this could weigh in. Thanks.

Yes I have done this. Here is what you should do.
If posts which you are moving to a new site are relatively new, just move and then delete in the old site. Then resubmit the site map of the old site to Google, and submit new site's site map to Google as well. Google will still be showing some of the moved posts in the old site for some time, but in time they will vanish there.
If posts are not knew, then do redirect in addition to the step described above.
In a couple of months this will all be in place and Google will be showing the real situation.
Thanks Jovo. Are there any issues if the posts have not been indexed in Google? Should be safe to move?
Is there a plugin? Do you just copy and paste.

You mean not indexed in old place, I assume. Then this is even less problematic, Google does not know about them in the old place. But even if it does, next time it checks old place it will realize they are not there. So no worry.
I did it manually.
Forgot to mention, check internal links in the old site, to avoid broken links pointing to removed posts.
Also remove eventual images from Media Library in old place. If images are indexed in your old site setting, there may be a small mess in Search Console reports, but in time this will get to normal by itself.
