As much as I do totally agree with your sentiments Marlene, and this was such a tragedy it only takes a brief second for a child to slip away from you and as we do not have eyes in the back of our heads, neither is it possible to watch them 24 hours a day. One simple turn of your back to do something can be just enough for a child to disappear and I don't doubt for a moment that the parents were not looking after the child but they then have to live with this moment for the rest of their lives and I bet they will always question what if (as in what if we had done this or not done this).

I really think that this is a pure tragedy and was not caused by anyone being negligent but just a child that has managed to give his parents the slip and by the time they have managed to find him it has been too late. xxx

It is always a sad scenario when a child is lost no matter the age, but when that child is still a toddler or minor, it rests with the parents to be the child's guardian, protector and teacher,

It is sad to see the neglect in some societies concerning children, they are conceived without forward planning,

I feel that adult education should be enhanced in these communities where it is sorely lacking.

I agree that we should step in and help to make a difference in order to prevent this wanting neglect.
