4% of day for you
"Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye."
Helen Keller
Self preservation, happiness and personal sanity was never more relevant for our personal health as in the current world environment.
During a conversation a friend gave me a golden bit of advice that I feel worth passing on to you all. It starts with the learning the power of saying "NO" and implementing the "4% rule refers to it as a life changer when it comes to mental health and well-being. Saying "no" is not a thing we do naturally but it is a thing we should practice and perfect in our lives. Why you may ask.
Most people try to be kind good and helpful by nature and will go out of their way to help
someone. but to their own detriment. But you can only do so much. In the long run we have to realise when to prioritize our own wishes and actions and protect our health. If some one is trying to take your time, your energy or your health from you then your allowed to say "NO".
You are justifies in informing them that you have dedicated your time energy and focus towards something else, something that's a priority to you and an important one at that. My friend explained the 4% principal yo me, don't know if ye have ever heard of it buts it's enlightening and so simple. Basically it's where you allow yourself to claim back 4% of your day and spend it on a really valuable asset "yourself".
Allocate 4% of the day to dedicate towards your mind, body and soul improving happiness, health and peace of mind. How is this possible, well $% of our day is approximately 60 minutes, 1 hour, just about the time required to work out go for a walk or meditate or carry out some other function that relaxes you and makes you happy? Take that 4% and make it yours, don't give it up, it's not too much to ask for 4 % of the day to be only dedicated to you is it.
Learn to say No when someone tried to cut into that personal time, the rest of the day can be spent rushing about as normal, that 60 minutes has to be secrete, it's the time that allows your brain and body to reset. It will thank you for it throughout your life reaping the benefits in your health and well being.
Take the 4% challenge and watch how your health and well-being improves, start saying "no"
to some of them daft requests and as well as freeing up thet spectate 60 minutes in the day people will start to respect you more for being a strong-minded direct acting individual. Time to throw out the floor Matt.
Hope this inspires someone to change a small aspect in their lives
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."
Winston Churchill

Mark

I spend time being by myself late at night when everyone else is in the bed. It’s my me time. I do whatever I’m in mood for and feel like doing. I have health problems and exercising is hard for me but I take me time for my mental heath. I’m bipolar so this is imperative for me. I do different things I enjoy Facebook, WA, TV I catch up on my soap, time with God, chat with friends from other countries, meditate, think in my head lol, whatever I’m in mood for. It’s when I’m feel like I’m alone, because I’m around someone all day and night 24/7 365. It’s my me time. Have a nice day.
