30 Days To Crush Email Marketing!

Day 10

I've Got A Date!

I've got a date in my calendar..have you?

Welcome fellow WA'ers to Day 10 of my 30 Day Email Marketing Challenge! I'm once again writing and posting this very late on in the day. Always walking that fine line between our general day to day stuff and our training time with WA.

So, just to recap from yesterday...we spoke about the strategy of exploring the specific content we wanted to create and put to work for us in our marketing campaigns.

Although we are only 10 days into this challenge we have accomplished so much.

Think about it, we have already made a general plan of what we want to accomplish this month. We've built a general idea of how often we want to mail, and have mapped out the content strategy yesterday. Having all this to hand will make it easier to approach today’s task – creating a mailing calendar.

Remember I said at the start of this challenge that "It's all about the plan"...I am telling you that building a proper plan will transport you to where ever it is you are wanting to go!

So why bother to create a mailing calendar?

Simply answered....your calendar will make it easy to stay consistently on top of your tasks! With your schedule to hand you can wake up in the morning, grab your cup of tea, glance at your calendar, and get to work creating your chosen email for that day.

I want to stop you for a moment to emphasise a very important point..which you may not have realised yet. Email marketing is an extremely high value task. What I mean by this is, making the time to sit down and write this email is one of the most profitable things you might do that day. Make sure you make the time for it and invest your best effort into it.

Having your calendar schedule to hand will remove the guess work out of email marketing and get you up and running as quickly and easily as possible.

Depending on how often you have decided to mail and how far you like to plan ahead, you may want to create a schedule for just the week or two, or for a month. I know some very organised marketers who plan out even further than a month, but personally I would normally only schedule a month in advance.

So, whats the best way to approach building our calendar?

Easy, lets start with a blank calendar :)

Then take some of the answers you have already come up with in the previous tasks such as: Emailing frequency...whether once a day, twice a week, once a week etc,.

What emails you want to send out as a solo, when you want to share pure content and when you want to throw in an offer. Refer back to your content strategy you focused on yesterday when making these decisions.

Also use yesterdays lesson when deciding the topic for each email. As you make these decisions..write them into your calendar.

When you decide you want to include an offer on that particular day in a particular email...it's great practice to record the link you're going to use whether it is an affiliate link or a link to your own sales page. This also applies if you're sharing content on your blog or if you’re inviting readers to interact on your social media account, always include the link and write it down.

Having these links in your calendar means you don’t have to go hunt them down while you’re composing your email...you will be super organised.

So what are you waiting for.....get to work people!

Tomorrow, I have something rather special for you...

a strategy that is so so obvious that you may not already be deploying it within your own marketing efforts..all will be revealed tomorrow!

I will leave you with my thought for the day....

Go crush those fears...you can do it!

Awesome post have a wonderful week, wish you all the best

Hope

Thanks Hope, you too :)

That is true for me - that last quote but I'm not sure I can do this entrepreneur stuff. It's quite a challenge. Must get a copy of that last quote.

Hi Sylvia, if you take this on..you may just surprise yourself! More than anything, it is a journey of self discovery. If you take it one step at a time..one task at a time..before you know it you have created something far larger than you ever thought possible. At the end of the day, being an entrepreneur isn't for everyone...but you never know...you might find it's for you!

Thanks Anthony, now you make me cry

No..this is a cry free zone :) unless they are tears of joy!

joy

Thanks, Jay

Cheers Jay

Thanks for sharing your post.

Hi Rebecca, thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for sharing.

Hello Roger, thanks mate. Hope all well buddy

No problem.

Sending out mails seems simple but as always there's a lot to it!

Hi Mike, thanks for stopping by. Yes indeed, things are rarely as easy as they first my seem. But nothing is impossible...if you get the right education, take each step one at a time...and follow through. I intend to produce a follow up training to this challenge which will take the novice marketer through the technical process of setting up a new subscriber list...step by step from start to finish.

Yes. Anthony another great insight into email marketing. Today is my AR email update day. I whole heartedly agree with this

"Email marketing is an extremely high value task. What I mean by this is, making the time to sit down and write this email is one of the most profitable things you might do that day. Make sure you make the time for it and invest your best effort into it"

I just have a visitor aking me whether he should start Autoresponder at the beginning when the traffic is low. So what is your suggestion?

Hi SK, thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. In ragerd to your question, depending on what stage they have reached with the other aspects of building their business, if they have a site up and running with some quality content...then I would say yes! The sooner that you incorporate some form of AR into your business the better as far as I'm concerned..as it is a tool that is working 24/7 for you and your business. Start with something simple...with an opt in offer and a few emails...remember they will capture a new member ...which will give you the opportunity to introduce yourself to them. Don't worry if you haven't got the perfect setup....you can tweak it as you go.

Perfect. This is what I thought . TQVM

This is great information, I always use a calendar to keep me on track. Sometimes things come up, but doing things on a consistent basis definitely helps. Now I need to go back and read your last 9 days of this challenge. Take Care!

Hi Elizabeth, things do come up..but the calendar is their to keep us true :) It's great to have you along, looking forward to receiving your feedback. Have a great day
