No, You have most probably gotten an email from Wordpress.org, which also offers an app that allows you to access your WordPress website hosted on servers owned by Wordpress .org

You can not use the same app if you have a WordPress installation hosted by Wealthy Affiliate. Instead, you have to log into the site via a web browser on your mobile instead.

we all use a program called wordpress created by wordpress.org
in the beginning they allowed a company to create a site called worpdress.com
one of the biggest mistakes they made...
wordpress.com are a hosting company with tools.....
they also control gravatar, s oyou need a wordpress.com account to access your gravatar account
the second mistake they made....
now everybody thinks that when wordpress.com gets in touch or they use hte wordpress program it is via wordpress.com
it is not
they are competely seperate companies...
at wa we use the wordpress program from wordpress.org to create websites
we have to have a wordpress.com account to access the gravater syatem to allow hte linking of hte gravatar image from site to site...
so no you don't need the app and cannot access your wa site from that ...i have tried but it is unable to link with it...
if you create offline posts then it is possible with that ...then you copy and paste into your site...
