How to Set Broader and Deeper Goals
Our most important goals are not reached over night. They often take years or even decades to materialise.
Reaching our goals is a process. It is a journey of a multitude of steps.
The journey to success is on life’s road where we experience little successes or even huge success, sometimes a big break and small or even huge failures.
We have to overcome challenges both big and small.
Our attitude towards our life is reinforced for good when we are productive. Doing the right thing every day will lead to success.
Break your long term goals into short term goals. Reward yourself every time you reach one of these goals.
Goal setting areas are:
- Relationship Goals
- Personal Goals
- Business Goals
- Financial Goals
Recording goals gets them out of your head and enables you to see them and imagine them accomplished.
HOW TO SET THESE GOALS
1. Write down all your long term goals.
2. Divide them into a series of short term goals.
3. Be very clear why you want to achieve your goals.
AN EXAMPLE:
Long term goal: To establish an online business.
One short term specific goal: To learn to write online sales letters.
Why? To experience the challenge and excitement of writing words that persuade others to purchase life enhancing products. To master a skill.
The WHY broadens and deepens a goal and because it is less defined it will encourage you to understand more about yourself – your interests, wants needs and motivations.
The process of broadening and deepening goals can make your life richer, purposeful and meaningful.
Why not give it a go?
