Website Contents Concern

I have my website now but I can say that until now I am still on the process of learning everything especially on what to do to rank my website in Google. My website is about cooking and to be honest some recipe's I have in my website is copied from a book which I receive as a bonus from the other sites. I now discover using http://www.copyscape.com/ that Google might suspend my account or my website might not be rank because the content of recipe's is not original.

My concern is. I wanted to delete all the content of my recipe page and add original one. Will this be okay? Is there any disadvantage of changing contents of website from time to time?

Just do the things that feel right to you!

you are in the process of finding your own "voice" and refining your content to match that voice..it is a work in progress. Others have given you excellent guidance. Enjoy it, and what you do, and that will communicate through. Andy

Wayne and Techound , Seem to have given you the necessary advice, do what they say and dont worry about changing your content everyone is doing it all the time - websites should be continuously up dated its all work in progress .

Hi Marifehirst,

I like Wayne's suggestion, be creative and you will be fine. The basic might be the same to that of others but could use different spices or have different meal preparation time. All these can make your recipes different.

Good luck to you

Hey Marife,
It's not just Google that you have to worry about getting into trouble with. Recipe ingredients are not copyrighted but the instructions that are given often are. I would take Wayne's advice about putting your own spin, etc. Also, make sure that you attribute your recipes to the original owner.

You may want to do a search about recipes and copyrighting.

Best Regards,
Jim

Thanks Jim. Well, at least I learn from it and decided to change all my recipe's.

Why not add your own spin to the recipe, add a flair of your own, even review someone's recipe and say I took it and did this to it and it's much better or healthier. You can take it down or remove the page, no problem.

thanks for that wayne
