This might sound stupid or weird to the INTERNET Gurus but I will ask the question anyway to get a brilliant answer from the a stupid question....pardon my ignorance. What is the difference between Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC)?

There are no stupid questions here just ask what's on your mind and you will get an answer.

Have you gone through Boot Camp yet? Also, if you look through the video training or the old Wabinars, there's plenty of material there. Basically, get yourself a good keyword, like from the WA keyword tool or, better yet, from Jaaxy. Type the keyword into the Google search, and see what the highest positions are using for keywords in Google or in Youtube. Find the best one with the lowest competition. It should probably be three or four words long. (I like using product names.) Use that exact keyword as the first part of your blog/page title, or as your whole title. Use the same key word as the first words in the first sentence of your first paragraph. Find different variations of that keyword, and mix them into your content. Get as many good keywords as you can into your content, and use as much variation as possible, but make sure that it is easy to read, and that the content flows smoothly. There's lots more to it than that, but this will be a start. Also, just type "SEO" into Youtube, and you'll get more material than you'll know what to do with. But don't waste much time with older videos (probably best those no more than a year old) because SEO has changed a lot recently.

Hi Profile, thank for your input and advice. I am currently doing bootcamp training and I might I am getting lot of information every training material.

By the way, the user name is PROLIFE, not "Profile." Lots of people make that mistake.

Never fail to ask a question, it is exactly why we are all here! I believe for every question asked there is more than a handful of people who wanted to ask it.
Concerning SEO and PPC, I believe you will have better success in the long run with SEO combined with valuable content.
Although PPC makes it possible to quickly get people to a site, it is the quality of the content that keeps them there...... or not.
Keep in mind that once you publish good SEO content on your site, it is there for good and will continue to draw visitors.
Where as PPC will cost you money and will be gone once your campaign ends. Further more, if the content is just some duplicated words or a capture page achieving any volume of success will be difficult and costly at best.

Ok, thanks. So it clear that I have to brush up my SEO skills to pay for PPC

1

Brushing up on skills is a good thing, parting with hard earned money... not so much.
Yes, you want good content on your site, especially if you are paying for visitors; however, if you are creating quality SEO then paying for PPC would not be required.
Can I ask, how are you doing with the Get Started courses? Are you familiar with Jaaxy yet?

1

Thanks once more, my training is progressing very well and I'm sort of getting a grip on Jaaxy

Manxu02, not stupid, being a former teacher there is no stupid question, and I was wondering the same thing just didn't know how to ask it. Thanks for asking it.

Hi Brenda, thanks for the kind words. I feel good that I asked that question I though I was the only one. I am very happy that I helped my fellow WA community members

Basically, in PPC you have to pay to have your links shown in the search engine. SEO takes a lot more skill and work, but if you get good at it, your material, including your links, are shown for free.

Thanks but is any other way to get your links shown for free besides lot of SEO skills

1

As I understand, SEO is all about free links. But there are several SEO strategies.

1

Ok, could you please direct me where I could find SEO strategies?

like steve said one you give cash to gain the other you give effort to gain.

1

Well said, thank you

Nice question!

1

Thank you, I though it was a stupid question

I get the point , thank you

With PPC you are paying for traffic. With good SEO skills, you will get traffic for free with high search engine rankings.

4

Thank you for your response, so it goes without saying that one should invest in developing SEO skills to get free traffic. What does it take to develop those skills?

1

Just follow the training that's available here. It is designed to help you become an SEO expert :)

Ok will do. Is this also the reason why you may sometimes see the terms organic search engine listings and paid search engine listings (or Paid Search Advertising – PSA).

Correct. Organic search results are achieved through SEO skills. Paid searches are only profitable if you send traffic to a high converting page.

Thank you Steve, I get the point
