Changed Mindset
I came into Wealthy Affiliate thinking about making money as soon as possible. I was not thinking about the journey, just the end result. Sometimes though the journey is as important as the end result.
My thinking have changed!
I still want to make (a lot of) money but I learned that can't be my sole purpose. According to what I have learnt in my journey so far; people will see you trying to sell them on an idea or a product and they go the other way. People don't want to be sold to, they like to feel like they are in charge of their destiny.
That means that you should give them what they are looking for and let them make their own decision, even if you nudge them in the right direction. What I'm saying is that helping people should be your first priority.
Although I had helping people at the back of my mind I was trying hard to sell WA to them. WA is a product/service that I believe in with all my heart and I figured people will just see that in my writing and gravitate towards it. But again I am reminded that people don't like to be sold to.
My mindset now
Enjoy the learning process!
I was creating post to sell Wealthy Affiliate, now I'm mostly creating post to learn and share what I have learned. Every post I write now is about an aspect of creating a successful website, or online marketing that I want to know more about.
I am learning by doing the research for each post and in the process I am sharing what I learn. Even if it takes longer to reach my goal, I know at the end that I enjoyed the journey and I am much wiser for it. With each post I research to write I find 3 things that I will like to learn so my content idea list is getting bigger each day, instead of shrinking.
Hopefully my goal of making money, of helping people and my goal of enjoying the journey all comes together and makes it all more special.
So folks enjoy the journey...
Make sure that you are learning something new every day and enjoy the learning process. I had forgotten how much I love to learn new things. Don't make the same mistakes I did.
Best of success to you all!

You are right, we should enjoy the online journey, otherwise, it will be a drag to build our websites, lol. :) The right mindset, thank you Marlon!! :)
Way to go Marlon.
I gave up the idea of being in possession of pots of money as soon as I signed up with WA. I was desperate when I signed up. Any idea went out the window as soon as I saw the training modules.
Then I found the WA family community. Now it's just enjoying myself reading blogs like this one, and adding my twopence worth. God bless you dear.....
