Smile life is beautiful!
3rd March 2016 and my life as I knew it changed forever when at 10am in the morning I was given the news that I had stage 4 cancer in my mouth and lymph nodes in my neck. My chances of recovery were 15% but 4 years on and despite going through secondary cancer I'm still here.
This may now shock you but believe it or not I wouldn't swap the experience for the world and I actually am a better person because of it. Saying that the negative is the hurt and upset those loved ones around you experience and their sense of hopelessness.
What did I learn about myself?
Well I'm a lot stronger mentally than I ever thought I could be and the inner strength we all possess within us is an amazing tool in a time of crisis.
I found out what true life values are which is not materialistic things like a big house, fancy cars and luxury holidays. It's actually people and your interaction with them and how you can have a positive impact on their lives.
I learnt that time is the most valuable commodity we have so use every second wisely and don't waste any of it.
My body and health suddenly took on a new meaning. Nature has given us the most amazing vessel so that we can enjoy life so why do we blatantly try to destroy it rather than treating it with the TLC it deserves.
Arguments and conflict are worthless and waste time, resolve or walk away.
So yes people life is beautiful despite the challenges we all face and despite this embrace it with both arms open.
To all those facing life changing challenges you are not facing them by yourself use what you have been given to get through the difficult times and embrace the changes.
