First of all I want to compliment Wealthy Affiliate for it's genius concept, it's rich, educative info, the absolutely amazing website hosting and the excellent support.

I looked for some info or posts about the subject below but can't find anything using the search, mostly because blog posts are more likely written about building our own websites.

I remember mentioning this once, about a year ago and either Kyle or Carson said something about upcoming upgrades to this website - which time has already passed - so i thought I write a few words about this.

Not to mean any offense or disrespect, the Wealthy Affiliate website itself is slow, old school, hard to navigate and lacking the very much needed mobile compatibility for smartphones and tablets.

Today less and less people actually sit down with a desktop computer or a laptop, instead using a smartphone or a tablet, on which Wealthy Affiliate website is very hard to handle. It's not responsive and it doesn't have mobile version that all high traffic websites such as this one already do.

I hope to see some updates here soon about that. I am a long timer on WA and not going anywhere, but I don't have much time to sit down at a computer nowdays and the ability to keep up on my mobile devices, read, post, etc. on this website is more than needed.

Wealthy Affiliate website needs to catch up with the 21st Century!

yes my web site often looks like vertical lines on my home page on phones and ipads, so then I change my pixel size for photos and media on my site, then it all looks blurry then I changer it back so it looks better after feedback from WA folks, very frustrated to say the least, my theme is perfect as changing it just messes everything else up. There needs to be an update to be compatible with mobile devices asap. I sure hope so!. Happy New Year to all. I agree

It's necessary, but an undertaking like this for a site of this magnitude - with TONS of user-generated content added each day - is MASSIVE. I'm sure it's going to be addressed, but in the meantime, it's not completely unusable on your mobile device. Of course, it could be better.

I will say, if you're trying to do all of your wordpress website editing solely on a mobile device, that's just nuts. A tablet is acceptable, but fat finger syndrome is bound to catch up with you on your mobile phone, and your post quality will suffer. Yes, the WP admin console is "somewhat" responsive, but there are just some things you have to do at a laptop/desktop computer...and, okay, a tablet, too. :)

In the post I'm only addressing the issue about this very website, not our own WordPress websites of course.

As for upgrading the website and making it responsive and mobile device compatible, should not affect the content whatsoever. Content is stored in database, like SQL and it's variants - that is never being touched on a website design and layout change.

I realize that & know all of this very well, but it's still a massive undertaking.

Of course it's not a child's play but it must be done and as I recall - mentioned in my post - some over a year ago Carson or Kyle said something about coming major upgrades on this website, but yeah that was over a year ago. Nothing takes a year nowdays when it comes to things like that.

The purpose of my post isn't criticizing the work being done here. It is merely a needed awareness that the website will soon must have that upgrade because easy mobile accessibility today is vital on EVERY community websites and social networks.

I do my reading and such on a tablet or my phone, but I can't imaging trying to use one for building a site, so in that regard I don't really mind things the way there are now, though I do see your point.

Actually, I tend to use an Asus transformer, so while it is kind of a tablet, when I want to write, I plug it into the keyboard...

I agree that a smartphone isn't the best for building a website, but building a website is a different story. Using this one though as the community website it's built for, asking for some serious upgrades.

I am lucky in that regard I guess. I am still old school and use actual computers (desktop and laptop) for WA...I know what you mean though.

Yes I still use it too but less and less. I wrote this post on my PC as well, but it truly would be nice to have this website in a responsive design to work on tablets and smartphones in an easy tap & swipe way. :)
