I just registered my second domain here at WA. Just like the first one, the renewal date is 11 months from today (date of registration). Isn't industry standard to renew every

You are right. Something it's not right.

Twelve months is the usual term. A domain registered today should have an expiration date of 4/30/17.

My domain renews on Mar 31, 2017. I'll send a support ticket.
OK, got my answer from support. 11 months is apparently how they do it.

According to site health, a blog post should be at least 1500 word long. My posts are 800-900. Can I use comments to make up the difference? I always add comments to my posts,

Hi it depends on the function of the blog post as mentioned already, as long as it needs to be and no longer.

Having said that longer posts are ranking better because Google is looking for value so 800 plus is a good. Comments will be included and are part of SEO, which is why older posts tend to rank better as they have increased length, they also show Google they are being updated as comment posting dates are newer.

There is an article on my own site that covers this as well http://howtowriteandgetpaid.com/writing-blog-posts-the-long-and-short-of-it

Well golly, if Grandma was still around she wouldn't hesitate to suggest that a blog post should be just as long as a piece of string :-) just long enough to get the job done! If the string, or the post, is any longer than needed it is a waste and just dangling there to trip over... not long enough and everything is just gonna fall apart anyway :-)

Hope that makes sense :-)

Quality over length, be consistent with posting and vary the length of the posts. To be honest it can 400 - 2000 words it's up to you as long as the content is useful to the readers.

And the comments doesnt count for the seo when google ranks content

Hey! Thanks for directing me to such a interesting discussion. I agree completely that length will vary depending on many factors. Site health confused me though. My content quality and variety score is 100% but none of my posts is more than 1000 words. Since my website is new, I was wondering if this will hurt me in a long run (i.e. content not ranking).

Dont worry so much about the length, as long as the posts are informative, makes sense and structured in a sensible way, then the search engines will like it. After all Google and others are only interested in showing relevant content. Not looooong content ;-)

More and more posts seems to me to be the best answer. That way an occasional super-short or super-long post is going to be diluted to the point of no technical effect to speak of anyway. We have an old saying in the environmental sector, "the best solution to pollution is dilution", I think the same could be accurately said of blogging :-)
