Crisis means Opportunity
Yes its true. The word Crisis also means Opportunity in Chinese.
This is something my mother told me a while back when I was going through a tough time and she told me to keep that in mind. Every time something feels like there is no light, just remember that when one door closes plenty more are opened.
The important thing to remember is that all things come to pass and when it does life is just different.
If you have been following my posts here over the last 2 weeks you will know that I have encountered a few crisis moments.... and even though at times I have felt like I have been floundering I have kept what my mom said in mind.
And one thing to remember is that my mom is always right!
Another great thing she says to me often is "The darkest hour is just before dawn"... so when things are all going wrong keep your chin up and know it will pass, things will come right again.
Here is my personal 3 day formula for when things go very badly wrong:
Day 1: Cry Day
Yes you got me right, its my cry day. I allow myself to cry, wail and moan. I allow myself to wallow in my own self pity. It can get really pitiful and pathetic but hey this works for me. Monday was my cry day by the way.
Day 2: Pull Yourself Together
I've had my cry and yes things may not be better yet... but there is no point in wallowing in self pity forever now is there? If you've done a good job of Day 1 and really gone all out with it, then you will be ready to pull yourself together on Day 2.
Think about the problem, think about solutions... and very importantly look at how bad is it really? What is the worst that can happen? Face those fears, feel them and think about what you can do about it.
Day 3: Action Day
Go through all the things you thought about the previous day, weigh up the options of what can be done... and make a decision.
Once that decision is made decide how to achieve that goal and just get on with it, get started.
So anyway I am on Day 3 and I am feeling great. It no longer feels like my world is crashing around me, I feel in control again.
It's been a rocky week where I have gotten hardly any work done at all.. but things are exactly as they should be.
Finally a very warm thank you to everyone that has been supportive to me these last few weeks. February has been a month of huge challenges for me, but with that comes amazing opportunity.
I can't wait to see what this year brings.
Happy Wednesday everyone!

I am right there with you this week Lynne and I have pretty much done these exact same steps. Keep on hanging in there and always remember you are not alone (that's another thing that helps me go on).
Sounds like you have a good way of dealing with it and moving on hope the rest of your week goes well
Lynne, keep on going, we all go through various dips at times. What works for me is I take a brisk walk or a fast ride on my bicycle. I try not to make a decision at night time (use it for thinking to twist and turn).........when the sun rises like at sparrows....it's then that I take that important move/decision! Works for me every time, different strokes for different folks, though. Just my 2 cent's worth and you are doing just fine, take care, Johan.
Great advice, Mum Knows best.. You have picked yourself up, dusted yoursel off and are rearing to go..Wish you every success..
I will remember that ypur 3 day plan next time I encounter a tough patch.
Your 3 day plan sounds wonderful. I think I'll adopt that myself if you don't mind. Have a brilliant day!

Wow, your mom is so wise... Your mom and mine should meet some day! It sounded like things my mom would say :)
Despair the black wolf and Hope the white wolf are fighting. Which one wins?
- The one you feed
All my positive energy goes to you :)
Oh yes I've heard that and it is so right. Feed the right wolf and you will be fine :)
