Who is LV?
Hi I am Lv Schoonover and this is my story. first know i am doing this area for my Grandkids and family hope all will find it interesting. Be warned I can get a bit winy at times. Life is a series of experiences. Some good, some bad. What we make of them is up to us. I like to think that the bad times were there to teach me things. Hard part is figuring that out. I have has serious losses My wife of 25 yrs died and I totally lost it for a few years. My youngest son died from a stupid gun accident. My daughter was diagnosed with total kidney failure and has been on dialysis ever since. My wife and I were both diagnosed last year with cancer and we ended up both in the hospital 3 days apart. What that has taught me is that life is a gift that we can lose at any time. How we use what we have is up to each of us. I chose to face each day as a gift to be enjoyed. How will you face yours?

Well Spring is here time for gardening! I am always looking for ways to make my life easier now that I am not as able as I once was. It is getting so hard to get up and down now days so I decided to get up off the ground with raised gardening and Gardening on my Balcony. This is a great way to keep some fresh spice in my life. After a lot of research I found many fine raised beds for sale but the price was way out of my meager budget. Always being an advocate of recycling I set about finding a way to build my raised gardens on a very strict budget. Living in a port city there is no end of pallet piles where with a little effort, sweat, and some gas for the car I came up with all the wood i needed for building about anything I wanted. Man, that is terrible Lavern! Seriously makes us count our blessings in life and think twice before complaining. I'm very sorry to hear about all of these events but with the way you're approaching this is VERY admirable and there is always a light at the end of the tunnel for this mindset!
After a rough week I am now back up, and around. Hope you are all well and having a great time. I have been watching my garden coming up. This always makes me feel renewed. There is nothing quite like seeing small green things popping out of the ground. Spring is all about renewal and rebirth. I relish the smell of lilacs as they bloom in the spring. This spring is all the more special because at this time last year I was in the middle of a fight for my life. I will enjoy this garden more than any of the others I have had in the past because it might have never been.
