How to Master Your Email List

Pat Flynn, a very accomplished online affiliate marketer, just updated his free e-book titled Email the Smart Way. The original version that came out earlier this year has been downloaded tens of thousands of times.

In his book he talks about two mistakes he made when he first started building his online business, the first being he didn't start building a list right away and the second being he didn't fully understand how to use a list. He goes to to say that there are a lot of things we can do to grow and improve our businesses, but building and properly using your email list is at the very top. A common phrase that a lot of marketers will tell you is that "The money is in the list".

His book is a "playbook" for how to master your email list. He answers questions such as:

• What kinds of email should I send to my subscribers?
• How often should I send an email?
• What is a broadcast email?
• What is an autoresponder email?
• What do I send as a broadcast versus what do I include in my autoresponder series?
• What calls to action should I include?
