Enjoying The Journey
Well, I've been at Wealthy Affiliate for nearly 3 months now, and boy I've learned a lot!
Despite many years in the IT industry I've always been a "back end server" type guy. I had no idea how to create a web page, publish content or get it ranked in Google.
Some would argue that I still have only the basics of those principles sorted so far but its a heck of a lot more than I could do three months ago!
As for my site, www.getmentallystrong.com I started out writing about my battles with anxiety, with a few motivational posts thrown in because its an area that interests me. I do wonder if I've maybe bitten off a bit more than I can chew because the topic of "mental strength" could just about apply to anything:
Motivation, success, physical fitness, spirituality, and financial freedom are all topics I could find a way to work in one way or another. Probably a bit too broad to be a "niche" but I think I'll go with one monster blog and see if I can make it fly!
According to analytics I've got about 6-10 readers per day which really isn't very many, but that doesn't discourage me. It's a start and I know I have a solid body of work building that will find its audience over time. As long as I keep at it!
I'm yet to realize that first dollar of income, it's still my only financial goal at this point and I won't stop until I happens.
Anyway that's a wrap of my progress of the first 12 weeks or so in WA, still finding the journey a fascinating one and I plan on being here for a lot longer yet.
Wishing everyone great success,
- Luke

I think everyone these days suffers from different forms of anxiety, and depression. Life is hard, and sometimes very frightening. But it is important to always look up, for guidance, love, and peace, if we but ask.
May God's love and peace be with you.
Chérree
Your right Cherree it is so common these days.
But we dont have to let it rule our lives!
Thanks for your words of encouragement :-)
I struggle with anxiety too. Broad or not, niche or not, if it interests you and you're able to help others, go for it, whether or not it makes you any money. On the other hand, I believe there is money to made there depending how you present it and if you offer solutions and can find products that align with your solutions.
Thanks I think you've hit the nail on the head, its the helping people that's the most important part.
Financial success will be a by-product of that!
You have accomplished a lot within the three months you have been here at WA. I must say that WA is a great platform for learning how to build your own website. Although your niche mental health could apply to anything, you can easily narrow it down, perhaps to physical fitness. That's a pretty popular topic.
It is a great platform I wanted to start my own blog before I discovered WA and it will the defining factor that made it happen!
Hi Luke,
I fight Anxiety as well. I have a panic disorder, it is very difficult sometimes but you know what? I've found a lot of unexpected help and support here without even asking for it. People are so supportive in their own way. I'm going to check into your website.
Good luck to you! God Bless.
Thanks Rae Anne, and I'm happy to help you with whatever you need to help you live the best life possible, please feel free to drop me a line anytime!
All the best,
- Luke

Thanks for your support Mister Wailor!
I'm not sure I can change the way comments work unless I change my theme altogether.
Will look into it.
