Missing In Action OR Missing In Inactivity. When you are not active within the WA community, which are you - MIA or MII?

Confession Time

I have been a bit of both. That's right, I have been missing in Action AND In Inactivity! I am multi-skilled like that, lol!

Why, Oh Why?

It's not that simple, dear Watson, if it was, I wouldn't have taken all this time to write and participate again.

The arrival of Covid, threats of illness, economic, spiritual, community lockdowns, and financial impact have taken their toll.

The worst thing possible happened to me - no, I've not been ill with the dreaded lurgy (something I am eternally grateful for, we all go by the grace of God on this one), nor am I unemployed, nothing short of a miracle at this time in our lives.

Yes, I have lost 2 income streams, both offline, one is show house sitting on Sundays, social distancing put an end to those; the second one is my pet and house sitting business - though we did have business during the festive season, it was the first since February 2020.

So what could be so bad, after all, I am healthy and still employed (half-day - which means that losing money through two income streams being affected by lockdowns has had an impact).

Read on my friend, this was bad, very, very bad ...

I Lost Sight Of My "Why"

That's correct - I couldn't see the wood for the trees! Not a fun place to be - it's exhausting and demoralizing and can even defeat us - if we allow it.

The Solution

Please be mindful that this has been my solution, yours may be something totally different. I am sharing this with you to show how we are all only human and, in my humble opinion, we need something greater than ourselves to catapult us into action.

I recently completed a free online course through a group on Facebook. Yes, yes, the course was free and, as can be expected, leads to something more substantial which is paid. We are all aware that these are online marketing tactics to capture our attention and credit card details too!

Often times a free offering lacks substance and little value can be gained, mostly it can be an inconvenient waste of our time.

Was it a shiny object distraction - fool's gold?

Oh, no! I struck REAL GOLD with this one!

The course I participated in was all coming together to find ways to live in our new normal, not only for us but for many, many others who are now in dire need.

The focus was not on making a difference to others, it wasn't even about how to build a business in our current times.

No, this course was all about soul-searching, digging deep within ourselves, spending time in the presence of our creator, and reigniting our reason for being.

This course was with an international community of like-minded people, all coming together in the only way we can - online.

What did the course highlight for me?

That I have a tender heart for a reason, not to plummet me into the depths of despair, but to gear me into action so that I can make a difference in the lives of others.

AND THAT IS WHAT REIGNITED MY PASSION, MY CALLING - PEOPLE IN DIRE NEED!

Let's face it, there are more people in dire need right now than ever before! People all across the globe, from different walks of life.

Economies & industries are collapsing, families have lost their businesses, their homes, children are being homeschooled by parents who never wanted to see the inside of a classroom ever again!

I don't want to dwell on the negatives, the purpose of this little blog is to share my personal call to action ... maybe it will help you too.

How Does This Relate To Wealthy Affiliate?

We have more than one opportunity by being a part of Wealthy Affiliate:

1. We learn how to build our own online businesses and make money for ourselves and our families (and contribute to the lives of others if we are so inclined, and I believe that the majority of us are)
2. We can guide others to how they can learn to build their own online businesses and provide for their loved ones by introducing them to WA.
3. We can guide others to how they can upskill within the Wealthy Affiliate platform and generate an income by creating websites and providing digital services to others

Those are just three opportunities that I've listed off the top of my mind.

I am certain that there are more opportunities as a direct result of our WA membership - what comes to mind for you?

Now I am re-ignited, re-energized, and excited about life again ... we'll be seeing more of each other here within the awesome WAmily! I've missed you all!
