Facing the music

I wish I had more positive news to share, like so many of you do every day, but I don't.

I am going to be leaving WA. I've been trying so hard to make this work over the past 4 months, but it's just not happening.

I have asked for help, but unfortunately I find myself unable to move forward due to lack of understanding.

I am autistic, and find some of the more technical details of running a website just too confusing. I can't get the hang of Google analytics, for instance, despite asking for help.

I am really upset as I really wanted and wished for this to work. And I've put in so much effort, followed the training and referred back to it time and again, I reached out for assistance, but the replies just confused further.

I would love to endorse WA, but for me personally, it's been a lonely journey. I think it's best suited to those affiliating for WA and not just trying to make it with their own niche website. Mine was a gardening site.

Its a sad day, but I am grateful for what I have learned.

Its wonderful to see so many of you really making it happen with this, and I wish all of you continued success and happiness on your chosen paths.

I'm so sorry for what has been going on with you my dear friend Louise. we were at the same month started in this business it was July, to tell you, I also haven't got any income yet, even though my rank in the WA community is on the top 100, but I don't lose my hope that my website may get ranked and have traffic, and the revenue is in there for sure.
Hope I have changed your mind if you minded it.

it's me,

Isabelo :-)

Hello! I am sorry to hear about it. I know I am and was indifferent situation than you. I one time was kind of giving up.

If I can help you somehow, I will, if you decide to stay and keep doing it. 4 months is basically a beginning, you need to keep doing it longer to be sure if it works for you.

Let me know!
Have a nice day! :)

Not easy when you're poor. I'm getting a proper job, so I can feed my child and not end up on the streets. If I return to this one day, so be it. But I can't just keep "hoping" posting daily will work. My child is suffering, he needs things that I can't provide just by being patient for a web site to wirk. I need to be responsible and pit my own desires aside, and get another job.
I already have a job, and thought I could build this up at the same time, but it's irresponsible to keep going at something for months, with no guarantee of return. 44k members in my Facebook gardening group, so I think I'll find ways to monetize that instead.

I understand. I am also far from rich, to be honest. My mom was the one who supported me to do this by giving me money in the first place and she still does. If you have a child, that is really different story, then you really need to do what is best for you and for him.

That is nice, I would say post your site information there. But you are going away from that and I fully understand that. Keep in mind that he needs also your time, not only money. I hope all works for you and maybe you will return here when you can.

Have a nice day and good luck! :)

I'm very sorry to hear this, Louise! Jay (Majistudios) did a 14-day live class on setting up a website from start to finish! The videos are available for replay, you simply click on classes on the above menu bar--there you can watch them at your own pace and take copious notes! The ironic thing is his website was on "Men's Gardening" That should be ride up your alley! Why not give it a look. You can pause and replay at your own pace!

Either way, I wish you well! I have a few friends with Autism, and they are gifted beyond belief! I know you will be able to accomplish whatever you set your mind to, my friend!

Jeff

I'm clearly not so gifted *shrugs*

Sure you are, my friend, You just need a little perseverance nudge! Check out the Gardening series if you want, it might just be what you are looking for! Either way, whatever you decide to do--best success to you!

Jeff

Autism is a skill, not a hinderence. I have not seen you around for a long time, but wish you could have reached out earlier.

But you have to do what you have to do. It would have been great if you made a website about autism. More people need to know the problems of this condition.

And there are pluses as well. But I wish you all the best in your future endevours,

Stephen

I like your optimism. But to say that autism is not a hindrance, is a bit offensive to me. As I DO find it a hindrance when certain things need a level of comprehension that is beyond my ability. I'm ok if I have some one-to-one assistance, because sometimes, visuals are so much more helpfil than a set of dry general instructions. But I am definitely not skilled at figuring everything out on my own. Ive reached out lots of times...but as i said, i was either told to just stick with it, not bother worrying about it, or I just got tumbleweed. :)

If you need help, I would be happy to help. My son is Autistic and we have always tried to make him feel the same . He is now a Physics professor.

Kind regards
Stephen

It is okay. We all are different and learning in different ways and at different paces. If and when you decide to return here, I would be happy to help you if you would still need it. :)

Personally, I wouldn't worry about Google Analytics. It can be helpful information, but what is essential is your adding consistent content and building your website.

4 months is too soon to expect to see much results. Its usually after 6 month before traffic starts to pick up and can still take a year or more to get bringing in income.

Maybe you could ask who else on WA is autistic?

Perhaps you can network together since you understand your challenges better.

Mel

Really good advice, I jumped in before reading yours my friend. We are all special and can offer so much to the world if we only try.

4 months is definitely not long enough . It takes a lot longer than that. I always worry that the image of online marketing suffers because of false advice or lack of understanding.

On a positive note I have just got some trickle stuff coming through after only 4 months.

You reap what you sow.

Stephen

That's good you have something trickling in Stephen. It all just takes time and effort. :-)

Mel

And this is only if one is writing content early and often during that time too, Mel!

Jeff

Yes, I write a post every day. And it is just what has to be done. All the other stuff is fun. But work first and fun later. I still don’t understand why people don’t get this. Lol. I am just an old school fart.

Stevoi

I know what you mean, Stevoi! Repetition becomes a habit! Content is king in AM! I'll write a lot more of that if I ever decide to pursue AM!
