Can we share each other's posts so we can get people moving in their shares. Social shares will create more impetus that is long term and will help others to share since it is
Hopefully people have a social sharing plugin on their sites now and, if you're leaving a site comment or something, it would be great if you could share their post as well to your social media accounts.
Short of that, as stated earlier, you can look at the Follow Me On section of the person's profile and follow them on the various social media platforms.
You can add your social media accounts under "Follow Me On" at the bottom right of your profile page.
Why do we not have a place were we can do social shares for each other?

You can do this I have been a member of a few FB groups in the past where you can do this, YouTube Comments, Facebook Shares, Instagram Account shares, etc. The hard part is getting everyone to reciprocate. As a few people have to take part and be active for it to work properly.

How do we make our site a https and thus secure?
It's worth pointing out that HTTPS does not make your site secure.
What HTTPS does is to encrypt the connection between the browser and the server so that when you log in (or when customers submit credit card details to an online shop) the personally sensitive data are encrypted and, therefore, cannot easily be intercepted and stolen.
But this does not stop brute force attacks, zero day attacks, SQL injection attacks, denial of service attacks or any attacks that come via the server.
There is no silver bullet to making your site secure. It comes from having a security mindset at all times, and taking multiple different steps, both on your website and on your computer, or whichever device you use to access the admin area of your site.
I understand that WA hosting has levels of security built in, but you would need to ask Carson for a description. However, hosting is only one vector from which attacks come.
Here's a simple example of how an insecure computer could lead to a hack of your website:
If your computer was infected by one of the many ways in which that can happen, and that infection involved installing a keylogger, then when you log in to your site the key logger would transmit your login details back to the hacker - who would then have full access to your site and be able to do what they want.
Even an HTTPS connection would not protect your site (or your data) in that scenario, because the data is being collected by the key logger on your computer *before* it even sets off across the Internet to your server.
You need to think of security for your website in the same way as you would for your home or business - and constantly be looking for ways to protect your site and your data.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that WA doesn't like us to add security plugins because of a potential clash with the server configuration (but I may be mistaken). However, if you're concerned about this it would be worth checking that and, if they are OK with installing a security plugin, then these three are good ones to look at: iThemes Security, Wordfence and Sucuri.
Cheers,
Martin.
Clean Talk is another security plugin that I have found to be very useful, it is a premium plugin. I am not sure if it will work if your site is hosted on WA servers, I have my site hosted elsewhere.
Hi there,
CleanTalk is primarily an anti-spam plugin and it won't protect your site against SQL injections or other types of attack. It does a different job from Wordfence and the others I mentioned.
It is a very good anti-spam plugin that will protect your site from human spammers as well as bot spammers - I use it on all my sites and most of those I build for clients.
Cheers,
Martin.
You’ll know your site is secure when the URL begins with https instead of http.
Cheers!
Edwin
You are right. I didn't scroll down to read his post. It makes a lot of sense. There is more to being secure than just the https.
Wealthy Affiliate gives a lot of attention to providing secure hosting. I depend on them and don't worry about it too much.

I bought a domain and now the images on my blog posts aren't showing up? is there a connection?
If the domain is different from before it's probably that you need to update the image URLs to include the new domain in the file path.

Does anyone know the best theme for creating an author site, preferably free starting out? I must be able to put my books on there, create landing pages and connect them to mai
try the astra theme with the astra templates
add your microsites as subdomain to your domain - these act like their own sites.
astra is free or premium.
with elementor added you create whatever you want to - as a template or direct.
good luck
phil
is it the best- is there ever a best one?
Is it rude to piggy back this.? Apologies if it is but I would like to know the answers and you've asked it in a much better way than I could.
