My Thoughts on Wealthy Affiliate
I have been here at WA for about 7 weeks now and believe that I have hit the jackpot!
I've spent an entire career in Information Technology and therefore have dabbled in a lot of different areas. In my spare time I always have something technical to do - working on a web site, posting to a blog, maintaining our home network and the whole families computer gear, etc. Over the last several years I've specifically worked on some WordPress sites. So, I thought I had a good idea of what I was doing, but I knew that I was scratching the surface and there was more to it. I just didn't realize how much more there is!
I had already decided when I joined that I would take all of the training and do all of the tasks without taking shortcuts or skipping things that I thought I already knew. This was the best decision I ever made. I have learned way more in the last 7 weeks than I thought I could. It is truly as the saying goes, "I didn't know what I didn't know". And I am only just finishing the last lessons of Level 2 of the Certification Course!
Things I love here at WA - the training courses are very well laid out; the video segments are fantastic and add to the reading content; the assigned tasks reinforce the training; and during the entire time there is help available when we need it. I like the fact that we also go outside of WA and learn other components - Jaaxy, Google Analytics, Google +, etc.
I have to admit that I had difficulty coming up with my niche and ended up bouncing between the Certification courses and the Affiliate Bootcamp courses for a few weeks. But I now have my site up and running and continue to work though the lessons. My website is http://www.helpfulhomebizinfo.com if you are interested in looking. It is a work in progress!
Thanks for checking out my initial blog post!
Lynn

Nice looking site. I like how you have it laid out. I might have to learn a few of the things you did with the sub-menu's. Very nice. And wow, 7 weeks for your first blog post? Let's hear more from you in the future ok?
Now that I think of it, wasn't one of the tasks we were assigned to write a blog post here? You skipped something. ;)
Thank you SpiritRocker for your comments. And yes, writing the blog was one of our training tasks :) I am sticking to the training pretty closely!

Hi Lynn. Nice looking site. Nice to hear about your progress.
One thing from your site that could do with some attention. They are too small and not always placed in the best of positions and are actually distracting from your good writing.

Thank you for your comments, and especially thank you for your suggestions! By the time I finish writing an article and grabbing the images I am ready to be finished. I have a lot of cleanup work to do and fixing my images is now at the top of my list! I really am learning a lot here and am thankful for everyone's help.
