Well Google, I don't care anymore about you, you can just go away now!
Hi all,
I hope your niche site survived or will survive the last Google Core Update, it doesn't look like mine did, as it is at an all-time low.
Last year, I almost reached 30k views per month, just from Google SEO,now I have about 40 clicks per day left.
Yet, the good news is, that my overall traffic on Google Analytics is growing still, so I am now like "So be it, I will focus on what is working", and for me this is Pinterest, Facebook and YouTube. And will create a lot more videos in the coming weeks.
I was thinking about expanding on Reddit as well, but it seems they are in the middle of forbidding linking to outside of the platform, well yeah, they have a contract with Google, go figure hahahaha (laughing a bit with a huge grin on my face though :-))
So although it has been a mentally overwhelming struggle since the end of last year, let's change the game anyway and play the cards that we do have!
SEO now only works for the ones with a high domain authority, big brands, and those people who can afford to hire writers/create expensive Adds/ and outsource other things. Us small niches are suffer if they only focused on SEO, and put all that time into it.
Others say: if you did everything 'by the book', keep going, Google 'will figure this out in the end', but for myself, even though things MIGHT pick back up in let's say 6 months,my focus on Google is GONE, it looks much more promising to me to focus on those social media channels, as this will keep growing and SEO is unpredictable.
Also, it's not even sure that people will still use Google in the (near) future, for short questions and answers, they will go to AI and/or social media. Times are changing and we need to adapt!

Google is certainly being a pain in ones rear at the moment Lizzy and diversifying is the best thing to do!
I just need to take the deep dive into SM which I managed to avoid for so long...
I will still give it a couple of weeks but... it seems like that time has come!

I do agree with you, last time I checked analytics (before all of these people started telling me to stop checking stats, lol!) Google Analytics stopped showing me stats of people being on my website, I got almost daily traffic, and now nearly nothing, I think it is inaccurate because I have gotten clicks according to GSC and Pinterest. So I don't know really.
But Google isn't really playing a fair game, lol! For me, I am kinda mixed, with this, I just think you should do a little bit of everything to be honest. Sad to see your results :(

(some might get lucky, as DianeScorpio said today), but I've been spending some time on Twitter reading up (probably too much time lol), and it seems that about 70-80% of small niche websites have been hit. (well, one says this, the other says that, you know the drill haha)
The other day I saw this meme (wish I kept it) that joked about how on one hand Google says : do this, do that, so that is exactly what he have been doing for a long time (some of us), but don't do as I say, because Google is doing the exact opposite now, and ranking sites like Forbes as experts on about EVERYTHING hahahaha!

Im actually down on 0 again. Had 1000 click per months, last update dropped to 700, and now going down to about 3 clicks per day.
Im also fed up and I diversify.

Google shat on me for 6 months, I kept plodding along and now back in their good books. lol, I actually said in one of my posts “ I’m sucking up to Google”, lol and they ranked it. lol.
Now launched my last website 3 days ago and found in one day. Google is definitely a pronoun… lol.
