I found a more affordable option for Amazon pictures then the Lasso Plugin!

Hi all,

I am sorry, but I don't have lots of spare time to write my own blog posts here on WA on step-by-step tutorials how everything works, but I can refer you to another plugin then Lasso to resolve the image problem of Amazon!

Just use WP Tasty, as shown in this very easy-to-follow YouTube video ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgPieBaX10E&t=44s

It is very easy to install, very easy to use, and 50$ for a whole year , instead of Lasso costing 289$ per year!

As talked about here:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/shakidad/blog/email-from-lasso-2

The only disadvantage is that it doesn't do all images at the same time, so you will need to go over each post where you used an Amazon picture code, but in my case that is fortunately not that many, as for lots of review posts, I had already used my own pictures (yes, using your own pictures IS allowed, I am pretty sure of that! Just don't cover an image with an affiliate link, but place them in a separate button).

This will save me tons of money and I have seen so many people when commenting on blog posts, still using the original site stripe codes, please stop that, you will need to change everything!

(this only counts when you have a successful Amazon account already in place,if not you will have to wait until you get those first sales)

I will get straight at it in the next days, I need to fix it before the next year, good luck in 2024!

Lizzy

Hi guys!

I am back here shortly to announce that the plugin works fine, but you do have to wait 72 hours before you can implement the new links, something to do with the API codes having to be over 72 hours. (I was frustrated that I couldn't do this immediately lol)

Check out the screenshot to see the difference between the old picture with site stripe and the new picture by WPLazy.
I like that it is centered straight away, before I needed to do that manually.

For now, the amazon pictures from the site-stripe don't seem changed yet though, I guess Amazon will do this soon.

Lizzy, this is good to know. I saved this to refer back to it if people ask. Yes. I am aware of Lasso. It is expensive. They used to have it at $39 a month. They removed it and changed it to yearly-making it hard for people to use it.

I read somewhere from social media as to why they did that. They did not want people to use it and then drop out. Too many signed up and then dropped out after they got their qualified sales and switched to API.

The owners at Lasso complained, so they removed monthly to yearly only to ensure people stay committed to their services for the long term. I get that from their business perspective.

That is good to know that WP Tasty is another alternative.

Phil1944 talked about some API issues; I am unsure if that is resolved. The concern is for new people: how can they be associates if they can't get their three qualified sales to get the API access? Amazon is known to cut and cut things out of their program, so I am not using them at all.

Hello Brenda,
I didn't encounter any issues at all with API and the 2 codes that Amazon gave me. The WP tasty plugin was easily installed and the codes easily copy pasted into the plugin. I have yet to change the images though, so I will let everyone know how this goes further.
For lots of my blog posts, I was already using my own pictures for product reviews, but I realize that is not a solution for everyone.

I think it would be hard for people to get at the minimum sales for beginners without using pictures. It would depend on the niche (in my opinion)

I can imagine that they could get away by using AI pictures, but not sure how this would work, because then the products are unlikely to represent the actual product

So if your niche needs a lot of pictures, like a roundup review for binoculars, and those AI binoculars don't look the same at all as the real product, that is going to be a problem and I think these people need to look elsewhere for an affiliate program, in my opinion.

In a niche like mine, where I create totally different product reviews on one website, that is an issue for me as well. Because for my Africa niche, I could promote a number of products, not just binoculars, but also camera's, camping equipment, books on African animals/birds, etc.
And if I have to go to all different affiliate companies for this, you can imagine the hassle..
Hence why I started out with Amazon, because you can find any product there that you want to promote.

Now, just an idea to get those first three sales. The other day, Diane warned us about Amazon promoting on social media. That you can do this, BUT you need to warn Amazon about this when you do this FIRST. So after they have done this, maybe it can be a good idea to start promoting products on social media and this way get those first 3 sales.

Just a thought, but make sure that you are actually allowed to do this.

I hope that I could actually make myself clear, not always easy from Dutch lol

Good thing I am not an affiliate with them. I never will be. It's just getting way too complicated with all their frivolous rules, the cuts, then adding bogus rules and removing stuff that worked (like Stripe). On and on it goes. I understand why you chose it. I respect people’s decision to use Amazon or not. Yes, it's true, most products are available there but their rules are outrageously insane. I rarely order products from Amazon. As you say it's harder now to get photos. Complication is the last thing I need.

Awesome, Lizzy!

Jeff

Thanks😊

You bet!

Just watched the video seems easy and simple.

One thing I did notice is that they also create the affiliate disclosure which is great but this is just a generic disclosure and not the one Fusspot Amazon wants to have.

So not sure if this would need to be manually changed on each link or they have an automatic method to rephrase the disclosure for Amazon.

just something I noticed straight away.

Apart from that, it looks great and super easy to do.

Andre

Thank you Lizzy will look into the video as well as the plugin.

Andre

Welcome!

You too They have various payment options from he $50 up to $299

Yes if you have several sites, but I think if you would use Lasso, that would be even higher, not sure though. It's a hassle from Amazon for sure.

Perhaps haven't checked the pricing options of Lasso. Still another option to think about.

Thank you once more

Andre
