I'm having a bit of trouble with my customization. I changed the background to a background image within wordpress. Automatically the color of my text became grey (with black ba

Litsa, that's looking heaps better. Well done. Sort of compromise between black & white.

Thanks! It still need lots of work but I know I'm on the right path now!!

Litsa, I visited your site. That is one beautiful theme and I think it looks fantastic. Well, if it were me, I would not change it. Whatever problem you were having is no longer there and I found it perfectly readable. The text is on white background and that is the important part. Plus you have the light grey menu, and that looks fine to me.

If you would like to make the site a bit more "fun" and less "serious, then, yes, changing the background color to something more cheerful would be an idea.

The theme boasts 200 customizations, including CSS, so I image it is possible to do just about anything with it.

I suggest you visit the support forum for your theme and browse through the topics and you can post a question there as well about what you want to do and how to do it.

I see that user Dottie had a similar experience to yours and it was resolved with a "reset" option.

Don't give up if you like the theme. There are very few free themes out there that look like a premium theme, and this is one of them.

But if you don't like it, well there are others. I personally like it a lot and I think it fits in well with the Tattoo niche.

Thanks Judy. The one you saw now is my new theme! I changed it and I really love this one. It's very easy to use too! Thank you for the advice and the links. I'll keep them just incase! Again thanks!

Just been looking at several tattoo sites and the majority of them had a white background. Always good to look at existing sites and see what works and stands out and what doesn't. Then incorporate the best of what you see.

You are right. Thanks. I sometimes get carried away by an image that I have in mind..

I should have added but at the same time don't let that limit your creativity :-)
Sometimes your just got to try things out.

Just yesterday I added an image with black background with white font to my brother's website. I looked at it and looked at it. No! This has got to go! Not only is it hard to read, it's also aesthetically inferior. I took that image, closed the other layers and reversed the colour. Much better!!!

Like has been said below, if you can't change the theme and it's stuck that way, dump that theme and don't look back. It's a terrible design to come default like that.

Look under "Appearance" and the color settings should be in there somewhere if it has such settings. If not, choose a new theme.

I guess you're right. I checked the color setting and couldn't change it. I'm going for a new theme. Do you think that it's ok to have a colorful site for temporary tattoos? I'm having difficulty with the black themes...

Hi Ltsa, I would have agree with Bev re the black background and white text. Not that easy to read. You probably would be better off with changing the theme if there is no opportunity to change the colour scheme within the theme.

Thanks. I new from the beggining I should have done so . Next time I should trust my instincts!

Thanks Beverley. The black background color wasn't my choice, it comes with the theme that I selected. Would you advize me to change theme? You can check out what I have here: temporarytattoosforall.com

If you can't change the colour combinations - yes I would.

Hi Ltsa

I would advise you against having a black background with white font. It is the hardest of all combinations to read and you will probably lose quite a lot of potential readers because of it.

Yes do your Wordpress updates as it suggest. Always make sure that you have a back up of your site.

If you're just starting you should only use the plugins that you've been advised to use in the training, until you find there is something else you might want - in which case always take advice here.
