Hi - your site should be a mix of purely informational pages and reviews with links, so what you are doing is correct, by re-directing readers. The recommended number of links is 1 for every 500 words within the review.

I hear what you're saying and I think it's about getting the right balance. Too many links and Google sees your site as spammy, not enough links and you could lose potential sales.
It's also a balance of getting people clicking the link and 'pre-qualifying them.'
So for example, I could link directly to my affiliate product in every post, while only giving them the basic information. I might increase my click through rate but my actual sales would probably be lower.
So my site promoting Wealthy Affiliate doesn't have WA links until I've told them what it's about, my story etc. Sure, I might lose a few click-through's but my conversion rate once they get here is higher because I've 'pre-qualified' them or filtered out the people who are really interested and 'warmed them up'.
I hope that makes sense...
Google actually doesn't mind affiliate links as much as we think they do, as long as they're nestled in good content, sprinkling your content with affiliate links here and there won't have a detrimental effect to your site's rankings.
Overall though, it is best to write review posts with links and point to it from your more general posts.
Hope this helps :)

I get the benefits to hosting your own domain, but until im ready to do this can my website on the free WA platform still get hits? Thanks!
Yes, your free website can get hits. Here is proof Siterubix sites can get traffic. Boy can they get traffic. I agree with everyone else make sure your going after the proper keywords just like the training shows up. Good luck!
Sure can. The free website is designed to help you get things moving whilst you are getting your finances in order, then once you can go Premium you can point your domain to it & scale things up from there :)
Yes it can. It will still be found by the search engines and you will be able to find it on the internet. It will be hard for it to be ranked though, until you start having quite a bit of content out there.
