Writer's Block
I have been suffering from a writer's block this week. I have tons of keywords I want to write with, but nothing would flow through my fingers. When I sit down to write a post, I usually have a game plan. My writing can sometimes be more on the technical side, even though that is not my intention. I created my website to express myself and my experiences, but also to educate people at the same time. I have been trying to add small touches of personal stories in with my writing. I feel sometimes that the technical side is important. My posts have been lucky to reach the 1,000 word suggestion.
Tonight, I tried something different. I had a topic in my heart, but I had done no keyword research on it. I knew it was probably a very saturated topic. Instead of heading over to Jaaxy to see what I could find, I opened a word document. I started typing my fingers like crazy. It seemed once I started, I couldn't stop. I have had a long day today, and it is almost 1 am here. I finished writing and read through it. I had really impressed myself.
This was actually the writing I have wanted to do from the beginning. It was my story, and how this subject fit into my life. When I was done reading, I went back through and deleted things because I was afraid it was too long. I ended up with a little of 1,500 words. I was afraid I would have to scratch the whole thing because I wasn't sure if I could find my low hanging keywords. After several attempts, I finally found the perfect combination.
I was so excited about how well it went, that I had to come here and post about it. I wanted to let everyone know that if they are having problems with content, try something new. You never know how great it may end up! I will try to get some rest now, hopefully my excitement won't keep me up too much longer. Good night WAmily!

Hi Lindsay,
I find I have to write notes when an idea comes into my head which act as prompts when I start writing.
Pleased to hear you have got over the writers block.
Thanks for sharing.
Wilson
I have idea written down but when I was trying to write from them, it just wasn't happening. I would just look at a blank screen.
Hi Lindsay, when you tried something different the other night and you wrote and wrote, can you not adapt what you wrote to suit . It could even spark off something else and get you back on track with your niche. Just a thought!
Best of Luck.
Regards

Lindsay,
Well done. Take a breather and get some rest. I've found that just walking away for a while, maybe a day, is enough to get the juices flowing. I've talked about one thing that helps me. I use a voice recorder to capture random thoughts that pop into my head. I can use those later as I begin to research.
Anyway, good luck to you
Greg
I like the idea of a voice recorder to capture ideas! My short term memory is horrible and I forget to write my ideas down half the time. Thanks for the tip!
My pleasure Lindsay.
