My rank is now significantly worse!
Despite my efforts to help out other members and be active on Wealthy Affiliate, my rank took a plunge. I'm now 2640, I was 1640 yesterday. Since I'm not even close to the 200 mark, I don't think it's too important...

Jeff Ball here.. I have to ask myself is ranking in this forum really that important? Or is the training we get most important? I say the latter is the prime focus. The forum of people is to share the questions and answers as they arise, thus that helps to answer questions you may never think of yourself.
My prime reason I joined WA is to build a website from all the knowledge that's available to me here on this site. Ranking isn't even s concern of mine. I'm here to learn.
Training is number one for me too Jeff.
And, by helping others, I have personally benefited in the knowledge gained in helping others.
You man not want to rank too high, as then you MAY find your time consumed with answering questions instead of building and maintaining your website(s).
I was told to focus on building and not get too lost in helping others until such time I'm proficient in this course. My two cents right now other than encouragement is time consuming. Better for now I focus on getting my site up and running , making money then I can be of help to others
And whomever advised you did so correctly. Either we're here to learn and help whenever possible ... or ... we're here to gain a title. Our choice. Like you, I'd sooner learn to earn :-))
Don't feel bad, mine also dropped from 1865 to 4513 . Help all U can, but like Mickey say' s, your main concern is your website for now
Rich is right, AND, please remember that your rank, here, does not have an impact on your earnings from your website, so spend the most time there.
It's not only what you do, but what everyone else does. For example today you might help ten people and no-one else does, so your rank shoots up. However, tomorrow you might help ten people again, but hundreds of other members help twenty each, so your rank drops. :)
You will get there eventually ... your help to other members is much more important than your rank. I think we all appreciate you taking out the time to help others

I read somewhere that being famous on facebook is like being a millionaire in monopoly.
The moral of the story is that you can only do your best and chasing rainbows is best left to leprechauns.
Do what you are happy with and if it is more important to rank than have fun and make money then go for it.
