As an Affiliate: How To Obtain Amazon Images for their Products
To obtain images from Amazon for use in your affiliate content, you should follow Amazon's guidelines and use the tools they provide to ensure you are compliant with their terms. Here are the steps you can take:
1. Amazon Associates Program
- If you're not already a member, you need to sign up for the Amazon Associates program.
- Once approved, you will have access to product links and promotional tools.
2. Using Product Advertising API (for Developers)
- For more advanced use, Amazon provides an API that lets you fetch images, prices, and descriptions programmatically. You can integrate this API into your website or app to dynamically display up-to-date product information.
3. Amazon Associates SiteStripe (no longer applies)
- What is it? SiteStripe is a tool provided by Amazon for Associates. When you're logged into your Amazon Associates account, SiteStripe allows you to easily create affiliate links and share images.
4. Amazon Native Shopping Ads ("We're sorry. The page you are looking for is not a functioning page on our site")
- What is it? Native Shopping Ads allow you to display product images directly on your website, and Amazon will automatically display relevant products to your audience based on your site's content.
5. Amazon’s Image Resources for Affiliates
- What is it? Amazon has a dedicated page with approved product images that affiliates can use for their promotional efforts. You can access this through the Amazon Associates Central website.
- How to use it:
- Go to the Amazon Associates Central page and log in.
- Look for the section that provides image assets for affiliates.
- Choose the images you want to use and download them according to the specified size and usage rules.
Important Notes:
- Always ensure that you're complying with Amazon's Operating Agreement, particularly their rules about image usage, as they specify that images should not be altered or used in a misleading manner.
- For the best user experience, you should always use Amazon’s provided images and not alter them to avoid breaching their terms and conditions.
By following these methods, you'll be able to legally and effectively use Amazon product images to promote items as an affiliate.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the clarification, Les. For awhile, I was under the awful impression that I couldn't use the images without being approved a for an API program.
Well, I am glad about making a reference to images. Getting Amazon images has gotten easier and accessible at least for me. :)
Another observation is with Mobile Get Link Tool, there's an opportunity to share and select copy associates link for that product .
But, in order to get SiteStripe, you need to use a computer. Correct me, if I'm wrong.
My friend, you've made me very happy.
Maxine :)
I'm not seeing how to GetLink with a mobile device at the moment. Definitely can on a computer.
Thanks for sharing, Les!
A lot of folks new to the Amazon program have trouble with points.

Hi Les,
As far as I am aware, you can use Amazon product images only with Amazon’s Product Advertising API, but you one has to qualify for API by approving and making three sales.
In December 2023 Stripe remove the options to get 'image' and 'image and text'. Currently with Stripe you can get only a text link (https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/node/topic/GJMMT7G4C8K4Y3AY) that can be use with your own image if you are not fulfilling the API prerequisites.
Lasso plugin can get you the images and product price only if you use the payed version of the plugin.
When about Amazon Native Shopping Ads, according to Amazon Help page 'The content you were looking for has been removed as it no longer complies with the current features and the Associates Program operating agreement.'
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Maria
You've just shown and proven why we need to verify responses we get from ChatGPT. Great job and thanks for the corrections!
Les
Ah, great, so it was ChatGPT :)
Yes, I'm guilty as charged, but it at least gives us somewhere to start from. :-)
