Never Give Up
For the last 6 months I have been going to the gym 6 days a week.
I am a slim man who has never weight-trained before and I am 46.
In recent weeks, the negative voice was coming in saying its not worth it, your not getting anywhere, things like that. I would balance these negative thoughts with positive thoughts - never give up, you're doing great etc.
Last week I had the 3-month update with my Personal Trainer and he checks my stats. There was no noticeable change in my stats - body fat, weight etc!! That struck hard. My muscles in my arms are solid but there has been no gains.
I know this is a learning experience and I am learning about the foods to eat, the amounts of protein, fats and carbs to eat to get the gains!
There are other reasons I'm going to the gym - its not just physical. The self-esteem, the confidence and mental strength as well as physical.
I will not and cannot give up, I have to do this. I have to achieve my goal.
My goal is to transform my body from what it is today into having a 6-pack chest and then saying to myself ":Leon, WOW you did it." and then others say "wow".
Why am I'm writing this here on W.A. you may ask?
I want others to never give up on their goals.
Make your dreams into a plan, make them your goals.

We should never give up on our goals Leon!
Very well done for persevering and all the very best for the future my friend!
Leon, thank you so much for your inspiring post. When that voice of negativity comes up trying to discourage you from doing your pushups, holler right back at it as you double down on your exercises.
Do it a couple of times and it will let you be.
There is a saying on the wall at Monica's Therapy center that has this quote, Leon:
"It is Extremely hard to beat someone who WILL NEVER GIVE UP!"
Truer words have never been spoken!
Jeff
Thank you Jeff - that's a fact right there!
I've saved that quote, it's a very good one.
: Leon.
You bet, Leon! I see that quote every time I go over there and it is very inspriing, indeed!
Jeff
Powerful words, never give up. Going to the gym is a great way to train and clear your mind.
