Hello, dear WAers, I hope you are all having an amazing weekend.
I'd like to share my new experience with you. Some of you know I have a YouTube channel in the same niche as my website and recently I've started making videos again (after a break). Having no experience with video editing, I would only be able to make videos with my phone and upload them to YouTube (that's what I did on my old Czech channel).
I got to the conclusion that videos where I'm just sitting and talking are boring, but at the same time, I know that videos have a big potential so I was trying to figure out how to make them more attractive. So I started doing videos with visuals and voiceover, without being on camera. My boyfriend prepared the visuals and I recorded the voiceover on my phone. Then he put it all together, added some music and it could go public.
I still thought that the videos should be more lively so I convinced my boyfriend to do a video where we both talk. I still did about 80% of the text but it's different than reading it all on my own.
It took us more than one hour to record the 5 minute-video.
It is a huge step for us. We've often talked it would be nice a to have a shared project. Each of us has different strengths and weaknesses, as well as preferences, and we could build up on that.

He likes creating videos, spending hours looking for visuals, music and compiling it all together.
I like searching for keywords and learning about marketing, writing, and video SEO. And doing thumbnails for the videos.
For SEO in YouTube, I use VidIQ, the free version.
I have to say it was not easy to convince my other half to do this, because he thinks his English is not good enough. Well, of course it's not the same as mine, but I have many years of experience talking, teaching, writing and translating.
I believe everyone can improve in everything if they're willing to and this way we can do that. Also, when recording the voiceover, we had a lot of fun.
This is the thumbnail of the new video I created in Canva:

The video just went public on my YouTube channel. It is also my first scheduled video - another new experience. I hope the accent of my boyfriend speaking English would not be too disturbing. He's not happy with it and says he can't listen to his voice :) I think he'll improve in time. First steps are always the hardest, aren't they?
I can't share the video in this post but you can find my channel in my profile. I'm interested in your opinion!
Love
Lenka
