Never Give Up, It Will Pay Off!
Today I just want to share with you my morning thoughts again. While strolling outside with our dog, I was feeling happy that I haven't given up on my website I set up 4 years ago.
New website in 2015
Back in 2015, I was in a 3-month course teaching people how to build their own website and become an online entrepreneur. I've set up my own website with a lead magnet and connected it with a Facebook fanpage and YouTube channel.
First product, first sales
And I wrote my first online product for sale, an e-book How to learn a language in 3 months, with my own examples how I learn languages.
I was able to sell about 40 of them having it all set up very well with the lead magnet that brought me about 800 subscribers.
Break for 2 years
Then in 2017, I had other things to sort out and wasn't in a mood to continue posting, making videos etc. But my website was still living its own life.
I still kept getting requests for skype lessons and that brought me many students/clients.
Now and then someone bought my e-book and I got money.
There are about 30 articles on the website, some of them with comments. Everything organic, I have never paid for any traffic or advertising.
I didn't write any post on my website for 2 years.
But the website was still running and Google could watch :)
Good foundations
I didn't know much about SEO that time when I set up the website but I had some inbound and outbound links there, embedded video in one article, and it was all in one particular niche - language learning.
The ranking reflects the age of the website
When I look in Google Search Console now, I see my average ranking at 7. Some keywords even put me on 1st position. Isnt' that amazing? After doing nothing for 2 years!
My point is: I had to renew the webhosing and pay for domain name every year. I could have stopped that as I was not interested in blogging for the entire 2018 and most of 2019.
But if I did that, I would have to start from scratch now.
Just never give up!
So I'm encouraging you to never give up and keep going! Even if you need a break, consider it just a break. Mine was two years long. But I'm back on track :)
Everything we are taught here is true and, all you have to do is follow the steps and WAIT for the results. When you look back at your website in six months or in one year, you will be amazed, im sure of that!

Wow that's amazing Lenka, a good example to anyone who is just not feeling it right now OR for whatever personal reason they cannot continue.
It's good to know that even though you hadn't tended to it for so long your website still continued to progress, gather traction and still make you money!
Is that not what we all want ultimately a money making progress making product that will work while we....sleep 😴

Yep, absolutely, Jules, it is what we all want! Now imagine if I knew I could have had ads there as well as affiliate links. I didn't know anything about that.
But now I can just use all the knowledge and skills from WA so that's good.

Yes, that's why we never quit because we are winners. No matter when. For someone it takes 1 month for someone 1 year to see some sales. But eventually, they are there!

Thank you for your very wise and profound blog post. It never fails to amaze me what can be achieved online through a very simple website.
Just a few months ago I had an old website that I hadn't touched for several years and I hadn't checked my affiliate commissions either. I went to log into the account and there was a reasonable amount of money in the account!
We don't have a choice to fail but only to succeed, we have to be persistent and keep moving forward.

Thank you for your reply Lenka, I think sometimes people give up far too early. With some off-line businesses you can almost start earning money straight away, although they can be expensive to set up. However, with an online business, you can be working quite hard for several months without seeing any positive results. Everything takes time!
