Does Wealthy Affiliate work in South Africa? That is the first question that many South Africans ask themselves or other WA members. I see this question pop up all the time in my feed and I also get asked quite often if I have managed to make money, specifically being from South Africa so I will get that question out of the way.

In fact, Wealthy Affiliate works in any country in the world. I have been here for over a year now and I have made money through Wealth Affiliate (which I will get into later in this post).

This question makes a lot of sense because African countries are traditionally excluded from international services in the past. Something like PayPal was only available to South Africans since 2010, and even then, it is available from one bank in a restrictive manner.

So South Africans have grown to be apprehensive, but I can tell you right now that your opportunities at WA are just as good as anyone else's from anywhere in the world.

In South Africa, the unemployment rate is very high, at around 30% for the population and over 50% for youth (18 - 35 years old). What I Afford With an Online Business

When starting Wealthy Affiliate I was making money through online transcription and staying at home with my parents after business didn’t work out.

I invested all of my energies into this online business over the last year and it's the best decision I have ever made (not that I had much choice, lol).

Today, I stay in an apartment in Rivonia, Sandton which is one of the more affluent suburbs in South Africa. My full-time job is content creation on my websites. I am not rich by any means, but having an online business through WA affords me a reasonably comfortable lifestyle.

I am not saying this to brag, but to make it clear that you can earn a full-time salary with what Wealthy Affiliate can bring you.

A Bright Future for Affiliate Marketing in South Africa

There is an increasing number of people finding out about Affiliate marketing and gaining an interest in it.

As far as South Africa is concerned, I believe that now is the best time to get into Affiliate marketing. It is growing at a fast pace and there is little to no competition in terms of local marketing. Now is a great time to build authority in a niche.

The business model is new to us and I have the firm belief that it’s going to explode over the next year or to.

One year later there are more than 100 affiliate programs to choose from, and the list is growing every month as more and more businesses create their own affiliate programs for South Africans to promote. For example, USN, the biggest supplement company in South Africa, only introduced their affiliate program in April 2019.

It is quite a wild thing being at the beginning of the industry (locally speaking) and watching all these changes happen so rapidly.
