Know Your Own WHY and Get Better Results
Everyone wants to do BETTER.
But what does that really mean to you?
People say they want to make more money - which is a very common thing that most people want - yet the more in depth answer to the question of WHY is more challenging for many to put into words.
Do you want more money?
If so, WHY do you want more money?
What Would You Do With More Money?
Think about how it would change your life and what you would specifically do with it. Write that down in a notebook or planner.
Read it again.
Think deeply about it.
As silly as that may sound it will help you clarify your vision - and that makes it easier and more likely that you can and will do the things necessary to achieve what you want.
How Comes After What and Why
Figure out what you REALLY want.
Then figure out WHY you really want that.
Once you know these things then you can figure out HOW (develop your plans) so you can begin consistently taking specific intentional actions on a daily basis to move you closer to your goals.

Thought-provoking, LD! I don't necessarily want more money! I want more quality of life! I need more money because of higher prices and, of course, TAXES! Not having to pay either of those would mean that my money requirements would not be near as great, my friend!
I've always stated that I want to make enough money to pay my obligations, invest some, and then give to those who are worse off than I am! Achieving that, I will be a very happy man!

Well written and true. I have worked for and with some very rich people and it is NOT the money that motivates those businessmen. The money was the byproduct of the goal they were trying to achieve.
Most had a clear vision as to were they wanted their businesses to be in 3, 6 ,12 months or more.
And as you said. This was all written down as definable goals.
There were no “about” or “around”, there were precise figures set goals to be met at a predetermined date.
And there were steps laid out how to achieve this.

Thanks Stephen - and my experiences with other successful people are similar to yours.
The money is a means of doing two things primarily - being used as a resource/leverage/tool to accomplish more - and to be able to do as one wishes with his or her own time as they see fit.
In short, it is FREEDOM and INDEPENDENCE.
All I have known and know who do achieve anything substantial in business are very focused and specific as to what they are after to begin with. Likewise, those who typically fail can not even articulate what they are trying to do to begin with.

You’re right, the money is just another tool.
A tool for freedom and independence as well as a tool to leverage the next steps of your business.
These business people can see exactly where they are going and what still needs to be done. And quite often they can articulate their goals at the drop of a hat,
I have tried to emulate that as it gives me clear focus as to where I want to go and the steps needed to keep pushing through.
