Content Marketing and The Portfolio Life

Leave Repetition to The Machines
Millennials are moving to a Portfolio Life. It is becoming more and more accepted that we are not meant to do one repetitive task over and over, but it’s more a variety of things that express our unique flare in life. For me, content marketing is a way to share a “portfolio” of my life. Maybe this is why I couldn’t choose just one niche, I have a hard time with just one thing. Yet “content marketing” is just one thing even if my topics are diverse. It was a way to focus on one thing. To me my topics are related, I know not everyone sees the connections, but they are related through me and my life.

Ways to Really Express Your Passions
It’s a way to share the “portfolio” that is my life, to share the knowledge I learn in a variety of topics. I am addicted to learning and I am always researching various things. It is a passion of mine. How does the quester for knowledge follow their passion and offer something to the rest of the world? Share their research, share their unique views and stories and connections in hopes of benefitting others? How do you make this something that can meet your obligations in life? Affiliate marketing appealed to me for these reasons. It is its main draw for me. That and I like to write. After you write great articles you find some great affiliate links to add- products you feel are worthy of promoting and are willing to put your name on so to speak, since they are served from your site to your visitor much like silverware is placed on a table in a restaurant.

Content marketing could both give you credentials in fields you are interested in and have a passion for, it may even land you a dream job, or find you another source of income that also fulfills your passion and enables you to live a life of your dreams. It pays to be original, it pays to be you. It pays to take the time to create work that shines, to make something you would be proud to put in your portfolio. This is an easy way to share your expertise at the mass of things you do for a living.

Future trends show we will be contracting more, and when we do we may pick jobs that are vastly different. Having a well-rounded portfolio that shows your capabilities can add real security to a job search. Look at affiliate marketing as a key part of your reputation. What you put out there does kind of reflect who you are. Sure some mistakes- being too hasty, not enough thought in the creation of each and every page as a work of art and so on are excusable in the beginning but seek to make your work better and better showing your evolution is not a bad thing.

Twists and Turns
My intent was never to write a how to site content marketing site. Then I joined WA. What I decided is even if I don’t like WA in the end, at this time my judgment is still reserved that I can put together all the great things I am learning and coming up with as a result of all the inspiration over at WA in my own way and share some key messages. It helps me make sure I understand, and it helps me take what they are telling me deeper in improving my own work. It helps me focus on what I am doing when I consider the principles of what I am learning. I really think I like WA a whole lot but it’s easy to fall for something in the beginning I am testing the waters to see if it lasts.
