When I first decided to start a blog, I didn't know about WA :( so I created one with ehost. I paid for 3 yrs and got my domain free for life when I paid. Today I receive an email:

Dear eHost Customer, You are receiving this email because you previously signed up as acustomer with eHost. No action from you is required but we areexcited to announce that in the next few weeks your eHost accountwill become part of our sister brand JustHost, another member of TheEndurance International Group, Inc. family. With this change, youwill gain an updated dashboard, better support, faster responsetimes, and an increased focus on investing in the tools and servicesyou need. After eHost customers move to JustHost, eHost will bediscontinued. Once your account is migrated to JustHost, which is expected to be nolater than October 1, 2017, the JustHost Terms of Service will apply toyour account and use of JustHost services. Your continued use of theJustHost tools and services after October 1st will mean that you haveagreed to such terms. If you do not agree to the JustHost terms ofservice, you must cancel your account by October 1, 2017 by emailing usat support@ehosts.com. Additionally, we have made a change to our domain offer. Domains thatwere previously renewed for free for the life of an applicable plan willnow be registered for free for one year only. When your included domainregistration expires it will automatically renew at the full price. Wewill be sure to send you a notification before this renewal. Until your account is transitioned, please continue to manage youraccount(s) as you normally do. After your account has been migrated, the eHost login page will automatically redirect you to JustHost. Allyour account information and websites will already be there ready foryou to continue building and growing. Don't worry, your website willnot change and we do not anticipate any disruption. JustHost will havethe same functionality that you use now, however your dashboard will beorganized differently. Please visit the JustHost transition site to learn more about these changes.

Whether it is legal or not, I would guess that there is nothing you can do, other than pay justhost, if you want to remain there, They are an acceptable hosting company, but as your site progresses, you will need and want better than acceptable. Take courage and migrate your site here. It is daunting, but I did it recently, using the guidance of a post by marionblack. It involves the use of a wp clone plugin, but she explains exactly how to do it. Make absolutely certain to have back-up, as my own blog confirms the need for that. With the right approach and the excellent site support at WA, you can soon be up and running on a superior platform

I have tried to cancel with them because of the issues I had when I first signed up - I had 30 days for free. They left me in limbo for 2 weeks which put me over my 30 days. So they would not cancel and refund me. I have tried a few times to switch it. But it just go so damn confusing I gave up.

I do not think you need to cancel - simply change your DNS settings and effect the transfer. You already have hosting here at WA, included in your monthly payment, so then just allow the ehost account to lapse. Suggest you get advice from site support to be on the safe side.

Hi Laurie-ann, put is down to experience, move the site to WA. Irv.

I have Kyle trying to help me do that - cross fingers lol

I think you should(if you have not already) send an email to support and explain your situation. Maybe they will help you find a reasonable solution as you have been 'grandfathered' into the new program/merger. Good luck.

Laurie-Ann, you have come to far to quit. You will find a way! You are bigger than your problem, my friend.

Unfair!!!

I know right!

Unfortunately it is legal. You should just move your website here. This might help, it's a training lesson for how to move your website.

A BIG CANCEL. What will they do next????

This company has chintzed out on you. discharge and consider WA hosting!

I would love to switch it to here. I tried to once but I couldn't figure out the tech stuff :(

Site Support can help but you probably have to get a transfer code from your current host like in Name cheap or Go daddy!

I wouldn't continue with them. I would try and back it up and switch it here if possible and ask for an immediate refund since they are not standing by their original offer.

I would discontinue your account and request a refund or the time not used. SOunds like they'll be having problems down the road no matter what company name they are using!

I totally agree. I literally just hit the send button asking how I can take my domain elsewhere. I have finally got my site going decently, I have 30 subscribers and get around 500 - 1000 views a day. I have almost 200 posts. If I lose this website and have to start over I may as well quit :(

Don't quit.
