First Content Upgrade Added! Woohoo!
Sooo... it took a morning of tweaking and testing and now my Top Mom Blogs post is complete with a Content Upgrade!
And I love it! YIPPEEEEEEE!
Visitors can instantly download my spreadsheet of over 220 Mom Bloggers within my article.
It shows up perfectly on my laptop. Here's a screenshot:
Now that I'm more au fait with SUMO's List Builder will create a few more tomorrow. In the interim I've added this one it as a side widget and footer widget.
Unfortunately I can't link it to Mailchimp until I'm paying Sumo's monthly fee, but I'm happy with the FREE version for now (well, it's all I can afford).
At least it has an Auto-responder (unlike Mailchimp's free version) and collects email addresses for me.
Plus it's much prettier than the list builder I was using in my sidebar before today.
Have you started doing content upgrades in your posts yet?
I've heard it's a Fabulous way to build your email list (which of course is the only list you OWN).
Let's do this!
To YOUR Success
P.S. Sylvia @SylviaMG asked a great question.
What is a Content Upgrade?
Thought I should add my answer to her here:
It's creating something as a freebie that offers further explanation or information to content you've written in a post.
Usually its something simple such as a one-page Cheatsheet, Checklist, Outline or Summary of the post though it could be longer, like an e-book or e-course.
You add a pop-up within your post offering your content upgrade.
You choose an objective for your content upgrade, usually it's to collect email addresses to build your email list but it could be used to build social media following or to invite viisitors to your facebook group or to sell an information product you've created...you choose your goal.
Have fun with your Content Upgrades! :)

Thanks Tammi! I like Mailchimp because its free until you reach 2000 subscribers rather than a free trial month. Gives you time to build a following.
Here is more information on SUMO list builder and responsive adaptably to mobile devices! https://wordpress.org/plugins/sumome/
