Career Advisor on LinkedIn - Invitation Accepted

So... I received an invitation from LinkedIn yesterday to become a

Career Advisor on LinkedIn

Unfortunately missed the opportunity of taking a screenshot for you but the invite read something like this:

"You've been recognized as an expert in your field and we'd like to offer you the opportunity to become a Career Advisor."

Cool huh?

Well, actually, it's popped up a few times in the last couple of months. And although I've been flattered, I've been hesitant to accept the invitation.

Simply because I'm concerned it may take up too much of my time.

Yesterday I decided to give it a shot since I'm currently testing out how well LinkedIn works to expand my reach and grow my online business.

What is a LinkedIn Career Advisor?

So I did a bit of research online yesterday and basically it appears that LinkedIn has created an in-house Mentorship system, where they match:

• Advisors (members willing to give career advice) with
• Advisees (members looking for career advice).
  

I just had to add a few things I could advise on (Content Marketing, Keyword Research, SEO etc.) and accept their terms.

Once I had done this I received a notification saying they are matching me up with people who need my advice and will get back to me on Monday.

Again, will keep you posted on my progress.
