Aargh! Not eligible to leave an Amazon Review!

Aargh... AMAZON!!

I am so frustrated right now!! I just read both of Ariel's books and popped back onto Amazon to leave Ariel her 5 Star Reviews.

Only to find...

I am not eligible to review books on Amazon.

Here's why...

"To contribute to Customer features (for example, Customer Reviews, Customer Answers, Idea Lists) or to follow other contributors, you must have spent at least $50 on Amazon.com using a valid credit or debit card in the past 12 months."

I have bought 21 Digital Products on Amazon in the last 6 months.

But as I earn via Amazon Gift Card, most of these purchases were with Amazon Gift Cards.

Today was the first day ever I've added a Debit card to Amazon to make a purchase.

And Ariel's books didn't cost $50. So...

I don't qualify to leave a review until I've spent $50 on my DEBIT CARD.

Grrrrr.

So sorry Ariel!!

The weird thing is, I left a review on someone else's book the other day because they had a link I could click at the end of the book to leave a review...

Well I thought I did. It shows in the book that I left the review but I can't find it anywhere on Amazon. So that was another fail.

Anyone else come across this hurdle?

That's really annoying. Didn't know they had that sort of policy. I regularly buy on Amazon but I have a Debit card registered with them. Can't see why they come up with these awkward rules.

I know... right? Super frustrating. So many hoops to jump through. Thanks for your comment, Sammy.

That is frustrating...I was planning to leave a review but I haven't spent $50 either. I may have to go shopping!
Debbie

Oh haha, Debbie. Shop till you drop. Unfortunately, I'm in South Africa so buying everyday goods on Amazon would be crazy.

Thank you for sharing this about Amazon. I did not know or paid attention. I do buy stuff on Amazon every now and then. I also sell products as well.

Good to know for future reference when I use more gift cards for all of my purchases. THANK YOU, BUNCH!

Hello Hà, my pleasure. We live and learn, hey?

Wow, I have not seen that before. I buy quite a lot on Amazon so I guess it doesn't pop up for me. I use gift cards also but so far I don't make enough on the gift cards to pay for all my purchases. That will change though!!!

That is really a bummer though.

Heya Jessica, yeah, I understand it's not a problem if you live in the States. Postage and time delays are just tricky for us in South Africa and there are a bunch of products that don't even ship to South Africa. Plus, of course, Amazon pays us our commision via gift cards so that's the sensible way to shop. Ho hum.

Amazon can be a little...complex to find your way around. My sympathy. It takes time to accomplish small, but worthwhile steps!
Jano

Haha, Jano. So carefully worded, we wouldn't want to upset the giant now, would we? Thanks for offering sympathy. Guess it's also a learning curve.

No, I have never experienced anything like that before, in fact, I never even heard about such a thing. I am sorry about that. That is not right at all.

Yeah... Grrrr. Live and learn. Thanks for your compassion for my situation, Mary.

you are so welcome no problem that is what I am here for

Hi Lauren, sorry you had to go through that.

I can't believe what I just read! You probably can't find the review because they want you to spend the $50 first.

Yeah, I guess so, Patsy. Hopefully, it is registered and will appear when I jump through the latest hoop. ;) Thanks for your kind words.

You are welcome , I hope it works out :)

I have absolutely no idea what to tell you.
Jerry

Haha, Jerry. No worries. I probably just have to suck it up and make the purchases. It's not like Amazon is going to change their policies for a small-fry Affiliate like me.

I suspect that if you were to buy some house items you can hit $50 easy. Then no more issues.

Thanks, Matthew... great idea, except that I live in South Africa. That's why I earn in Amazon Gift Cards and why I only buy digital products. Guess I'll have to make the purchases one way or another though.

sorry to hear that. At least Ariel knows that you tried!

True that, Glenys. And when I have a spare 50 dollars going begging, I'll make a plan to get my purchases up to the required level. Ho hum.

Thanks for letting me know about Ariel's books. She has x2 books actually. Well done to her!
