Many miles to go

I've been a world traveller these past few months. Well, not exactly the world but I have covered some miles.

In the last two months I have passed through Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Kentucky, Tenessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Whew, I'm tired just thinking about it.

One vehicle has 4000 miles and another has 2000 in just 2 months. I feel like I have been on the road all of my life.

I have been moving and selling my house in New York as well as continuing to rehab a house in Hilton Head South Carolina. Since my main residence is now in Tenessee, I have been jockying back and forth from TN to NY multiple times (about 900 miles). Sometimes just me and the dogs, sometimes hauling a trailer. Then off to SC for another round of repairs. Each trip a very long day.

I insist on at least one day to recover before I get into the car and head to SC for a week's stay working on getting the Hilton Head house in order. We are almost to the point where the house is habitable again. What a change this house has made.

So far we have remove 15 trees from the property, had the stumps ground and dug out the remaining stumps that were too close to the house for any mechanical means of removal. Removed all of the carpets and replaced the entire floor in the house. Removed/replaced (with waterproof drywall) all of the lower 36 inches of drywal in the entire house (Including new mouldings and paint) Remodeled 2 bathrooms including much of the plumbing and several walls.

The roof hasn't been replaced but it has been sealed and a new section has been added to redirect water away from the garage where it had become a problem. Whew, I am very appreciative that we located a contractor and crew that has the capabilities to do this work at a relatively reasonable cost. We're still suffering a bit from the sticker shock.

Almost a year since the hurricane (Hurricane Mathew) and we're still not completely done. Our next trip however we will be focusing on furnishings and getting the house ready for some drone images and 360 degree photos. It should rent very well once the renovations are complete (and hopefully recoup some of our investment).

Needless to say, with all of the offline work that is going on, online has suffered a bit. I have completed changeover of one site to https and moved 2 sites to WA registration and hosting. I'm doing a bit of cleanup on one of those sites to prep it for https and am deleting the plugins that are no longer necessary due to the robust features available on WA hosting.

Busy, busy, busy. And miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep.

Good evening Graig,

That was a lot of work but you can see the completion of it all.
I got tired of reading it as I know what those moves, renovations and the likes mean. Wishing you all the best.

Greetings from the south of Spin, Taetske

Wow... Just, Wow...

Awesome!

Enjoy your journeys Craig!
