Weekly Challenge: Share Your Best Audience “Hot Button” Research Strategy!
Hey fam,
This week’s challenge is all about getting into the minds of your audience! We know how important it is to find out what truly resonates with your audience, in other words their “hot buttons”. These are things them click, engage, and ultimately convert.
Here is an example:
Niche: Health and Fitness for Busy Professionals
Hot Button: "How to Lose Weight Without Spending Hours in the Gym or Preparing Complicated Meals"
Now, we want YOU to share the most effective research strategy you use to discover these key audience insights.
The twist? We’re looking for unique and lesser-known methods, something beyond the typical keyword research. It could be anything from a niche social media tool, a particular online forum, a cool tool you use to reveal particular data, or simply an unconventional way of gathering information about what makes your audience tick, react, and buy. The more creative, the better!
How to Participate:
Step 1: Think of one way you’ve discovered what resonates with your audience. It could be a tool, a website, or a specific technique you use regularly.
Step 2: Share it in the comments below, along with how it helps you understand your audience better.
Step 3: Engage with others! Read through the comments and like the strategies that resonate with you. You can like up to 3 different entries.
Prizes:
We’re giving away 10,000 AI Credits (a $50 value) to each of the top 5 winners based on the most likes received on their audience research strategy.
Key Details:
- This challenge is open to all membership levels—whether you’re a Starter or Premium member, everyone can take part.
- The challenge starts on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, and runs until Tuesday, November 12, 2024, when winners will be announced.

Let’s tap into some awesome (and unique) research methods and help each other uncover what really matters to our audiences!

Fashionably late to the party as usual.
My Audience is the woefully underfunded soon-to-be retirees and retirees in general. "The Button" I press is "What IS Your Plan"?
There are a million ways to answer this from I don't have a plan and will work until I can't. I get Penny stock investors, Crypto investors, Rideshares, Home Shares, and a myriad of others.
I turn every one of them around with "Did You Know" - Niche Blogging and Affiliate Marketing tops all of those? In fact, You can use your Penny Stock, Crypto, etc, and turn what you know into profitable niches.
Would you rather learn to create an interesting "You Do You" niche blog to earn extra retirement income with less volatility or take a chance on.......

Delroy,
Thank you for the vote of confidence. Have you found your audience hot button yet?

The niche I am spending most of my time developing is foundational health for the over-sixties. I am passionate about foundational health and at the moment, I am concentrating on diabetes to educate people with pre diabetes and diabetes that there is a non pharma route.
I want my readers to imagine having a lifestyle where their health thrives instead of relying on medications by aligning with nature’s rhythms, enhancing their vitality from the inside out. Hot buttons for this approach to wellness often include supporting energy naturally, keeping the mind sharp, and maintaining a strong, resilient body—all without pharmaceuticals.
Over the years, I’ve come across a few tools that really crack open the alternative view on diabetes, giving a fresh perspective on managing it without relying on Big Pharma. Years ago I cured my husband who had diabetes I got him medication free in 6 weeks. He was on the verge of having to inject insulin, and he didn't want to go down that road.
One of my go-to resources is PubMed. Yes, it’s a medical database, but what you can uncover there is amazing if you dig it. I search for studies on holistic and lifestyle-based interventions that have shown results in blood sugar management without medications. It’s fascinating, and you can uncover peer-reviewed research on nutrition, intermittent fasting, and the effects of specific exercises or supplements on diabetes. It gives me the research but not the case studies.
I found out about Dr. Jack Kruze on PubMed. He is an ex-dentist, now a neuro surgeon. One of the most eye-opening approaches I’ve come across recently in foundational medicine is Dr. Jack Kruse’s research on mitochondria and light exposure. Kruse, has a passion for diving deep into biology’s roots, he explores how our mitochondria—the energy powerhouses in our cells—can be profoundly influenced by natural light. His work takes a different path from standard health advice, focusing on how light exposure, circadian rhythms, and even grounding (connecting with the earth’s electrons) can impact our cellular health. His perspective shifts the focus completely away from medications to lifestyle adjustments, where optimizing light exposure becomes a key tool in overall wellness and possibly reversing chronic conditions like diabetes.
Learning about Dr. Kruse’s theories can be a bit of a rabbit hole, as he is regarded as a maverick by conventional medicine, for me a definite clue that he is onto something JackKruse.com, is packed with blog posts, webinars, and podcasts that dig into the nitty-gritty of how different types of light—such as sunlight, blue light, and infrared—can influence mitochondrial function and, consequently, health at a cellular level.
YouTube has several recorded interviews and lectures where Kruse discusses his theories in more accessible formats. For peer-reviewed studies that align with his perspective,
Another invaluable tool? Webinars and forums led by functional medicine practitioners—often these doctors and specialists are on the front lines, exploring ways to prevent or even reverse diabetes progression naturally. Platforms like Functional Forum and The Institute for Functional Medicine’s webinars offer insights from practitioners who aren’t just focused on treatment but are looking at ways to truly improve people’s lives without adding more meds into the equation.
These tools can be used for health niches, diabetes, natural health and many more
That's an extensive read, Catherine! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic. I need to do a lot of research, but I have also heard there are ways to do it without the pharmaceuticals you mentioned. It requires discipline and a very strong mindset to believe it can happen, plus support and encouragement.
I have bookmarked your website for further reading.
I am sure a lot of folks would be interested in learning more.

Hi Catherine, thanks for sharing this interesting post. I always wanted to start a website about how to prevent cholesterol, but I never did because I was afraid it would be too difficult to outrank big health sites.
So, I wonder how do you manage to rank with your health site? Do you encounter some issues?
It is a question of finding your tribe and where they hang out. It is also about being smart with keyword research what are your readers really asking
For beginner miniature model builders, I would say, "Want to make super realistic pine trees using stuff from around your kitchen?"
This craft can be super expensive. The materials add up quickly when you use tailor made stuff, but if you make it out of things you already have you can save tons of money. It's always fun and inspiring to watch other people make things on YouTube, but they don't always tell you what they're using as building materials. Some do though. I want my site to be like those that do. I'll go over the nitty griddy details of how to get into the craft. I want to share how to get started without spending a fortune or being intimidating. That's what I looked for when I wanted to learn...and still do.
This is an awesome little micro-niche you've found Aly. There are so many topics you can write about, from how to make white water rapids to railway bridges and everything else in between.
Maybe you could get backlinks from model clubs to your 'how to articles' - I would imagine it would be fairly easy to find some great search terms as well.
Good luck, have fun :)
The "Hot Button" for quilters is how to get the perfect stitches in less time.
When it comes to make a quilt, many might get discouraged by not getting the corners and points well stitched, and also, making a quilt can take weeks, months and even years to finish. Quilters and people starting to learn this craft, always look for some new tips to make a quilt.
