May I add my two cents worth:
When I first setup a Wordpress website I always create a new user as an administrator, then login as that new administrator/user and delete admin. If there are any pages or posts created before I do this as admin being the author then Wordpress asks if you wish to assign the user to your new administrator user during the deletion. I read along time ago that hackers attempt to gain access to your site using the admin as the user. And I see it happen often as I maintain a number of websites where I use a security plugin that reports and blocks these attempts.

Another point in this process is as I see someone else has noted you cannot use the same email address that was used when the Wordpress website was created. So get over that issue use another email address when setting up the new administrator user then once the original admin user is deleted you can change the email address of the new user. It will require a confirmation to take effect.

Cheers
Geoff

100% agree Geoff. An admin account on WordPress is a pretty big attack surface for bad actors. I also like to enable 2FA with the Wordfence plugin, although I haven't tried that yet with a site hosted at WA.

My hosting provider lists my email address as the admin username for WordPress, and I noticed that when the author gets indexed, it lists the email address that was input. However, I found a workaround for this issue, as I didn't want my email to be displayed openly in search engines.

The solution is to first install a reconstruction page on the site. Then, head to site tools, create two usernames with two webmails on the premium domain name, and install WordPress. It worked like a charm!

Hi Kyle..I kind of feel this training should be before the one on site comments and creating a gravatar, because it is needed for both of those tasks to be completed. I've been so confused wondering why there was no other 'user' showing in WordPress, thinking it should be there automatically or something lol, I am happy I decided to stop struggling and just move on to the next training because now I think I am sorted! Just thought it was worth a mention from a confused newbie, thank you.

When installing WordPress, you should have an admin on your website. Otherwise, it cannot be done. If you own a premium domain, you can create another email and user.

Hi, Kyle, thank you for this class. I have tried to effect the changes from Admin to my real Name but I get that error message in the screenshot attached. Please advise on what I can do. It appeared to me as though I cannot use the same email account. Thank you

Hi Joseph. Each WordPress user must have a unique email address. I would suggest setting up some domain-specific email accounts, or you could also use "plus addressing" with Gmail. This means you can use your Gmail address, and put "+anything" after the main part. (Example: jfh69fuuna+user1@gmail.com, jfh69fuuna+user2@gmail.com).

Different users require different emails; if your domain name is a premium, you may create webmail for each user and use that email instead.

Passwords that don't match pretty straightforward.

Thank you very much for the guidance. I will explore it and see how far I can go.

Thank you so much for the guidance

Fabulous, and do us updated on your progress :)

I will. please

I appreciate you Joseph :)

I have understood all of this thus far, but I need some clarification: Can I have two emails for one domain? Why I am asking this question is that I have used my personal gmail account to set up all that is pertaining to running my website i.e., the analytics, GSC etc. Thank you for your assistance.
Joseph

Yeah, if it's a premium domain name, but that's a different matter :)

Good morning good afternoon Kyle I was wondering if you can help me I just watched the lesson but it seemed like I can't get past the error on this one part i'm hoping you can help me get past it why is it saying error this would be greatly appreciated thank you.

You need to choose one that's not registered previously :)

That aside, I noticed your domain title has a book titled the same.

"Conceive it! Believe It! Achieve it!
Book by Judith A. Williamson and Napoleon Hill
4.8/5 · Amazon .it
AUTHORISED BY THE NAPOLEON HILL FOUNDATION"

That could be an issue.... The domain name is available to purchase

How do I get around that? Do I have to now create another domain name?

No just add a new webmail

With a different author like 'arthur1" or other

Hello Abie I'm truly sorry to bother you at this time but I really need some assistance I'm a little confused with this now I have two users when I log into my website I'm trying to get rid of one or I can just start over and about the other issue that you showed me about I don't know how to just really go about it I'm trying to follow the instructions but it's just not working at this time but I ran You know it's a little frustrating being a beginner like I am but I'm hoping I'll get through this where I can further get into the lessons
1) Trying to remove the admin and put my name right there
2) Second if I could put my face on the second one that would be good too that's what I was trying to follow instructions and follow the videos but it's just not working out maybe I'm doing something wrong
3) regarding the email as you see I'm trying to put it in there but that's the email I have so if I'm doing something wrong please enlighten me this would be greatly appreciated thank you.

You'll have a separate webmail for the other one. Also, you must log in to one webmail to access the other... You cannot log in both webmails in the same browser. Alternatively, use a different browser.

Your image is looking good :)

I am glad you had it figured out.

CONGRATS :)

You can head to the "Users" tab of your WordPress.

Please type your name, then choose it from the drop-down menu.

Saving changes )

I created a new user in WP, but I didn't write down my username and password, which I can find anyway. Now, when I sign in to the back office, I get this screen. If I click on Admin, it goes right to WP, but if I click on Janice, it wants a username and password. What should I do?

You can click synchronize. There was no harm there - it would reset.

Thank you for your help and advice. I clicked synchronize, but I was unsure if that was okay. Thanks for the reassurance.

You are most welcome, Janice!
