Somethings in the this program feel back to front a wee bit I was stressing hard over something so small and that was
why??? was Kyle's Kyle and not the same as mine admin
I was pulling my hair out
Also on the core content in the very first section you have create your first post why was it there and not in the second section as you here are establishing your brand and just setting up but yet posting before it
For me this was an issue that shouldn't had been
Is this just a me thing or has anyone else feel the same way
The reason it is first is that Google and the other search engines have to find it and to do that there has to be something to be found. Nothing is random in the training
Hi Kyle, so tonight i created the gravatar and moved forward with adding my new user.
I also went back in to my privacy policy and updated my email there as well to the new user email address. Was this a necessary step, or was I just being redundant and the emails from my default would have sent them to my new user?
Yeah, you got that right. It is a good idea to update all of your other emails as well once you have a domain specific email address. So by all means. :)
Hi @Kyle
When I click on user in Wordpress it comes up with a critical error message, please advise.
May I add my two cents worth:
When I first setup a Wordpress website I always create a new user as an administrator, then login as that new administrator/user and delete admin. If there are any pages or posts created before I do this as admin being the author then Wordpress asks if you wish to assign the user to your new administrator user during the deletion. I read along time ago that hackers attempt to gain access to your site using the admin as the user. And I see it happen often as I maintain a number of websites where I use a security plugin that reports and blocks these attempts.
Another point in this process is as I see someone else has noted you cannot use the same email address that was used when the Wordpress website was created. So get over that issue use another email address when setting up the new administrator user then once the original admin user is deleted you can change the email address of the new user. It will require a confirmation to take effect.
Cheers
Geoff
100% agree Geoff. An admin account on WordPress is a pretty big attack surface for bad actors. I also like to enable 2FA with the Wordfence plugin, although I haven't tried that yet with a site hosted at WA.
Hi Kyle..I kind of feel this training should be before the one on site comments and creating a gravatar, because it is needed for both of those tasks to be completed. I've been so confused wondering why there was no other 'user' showing in WordPress, thinking it should be there automatically or something lol, I am happy I decided to stop struggling and just move on to the next training because now I think I am sorted! Just thought it was worth a mention from a confused newbie, thank you.

Hi Kyle & community,
I created my new ID as David and changed my posts and pages as you directed. However, when I go to sign into my back office, I see my ID with the Gravatar with "Synchronise". I press the button for that option, and I'm prompted for a password, but it's neither my new email password created for my domain email nor my Wealthy Affiliate password. It's my admin password, but I don't even remember creating that password. My admin is set up with my gmail password, so is it safe to say if I do a password reset on it, the reset link will be sent to my gmail? Please let me know what I should do at this point.
If you don't click on Synchronize, it won't log you in automatically when you click on Log in. It will direct you to your website login page instead, and you'll have to manually type in your details.
If you click on Synchronize, you won't get the reset link to your email (at least that's what happened to me). It will simply generate a new password for you.
It sounds like I'm caught in some kind of loop. What did you do to resolve the problem, Meina? Is there a fix?
Nothing. I just use the password it generated. Just know that whatever password it generates, they are great. Yes, they are long and complicated, but a combination of lower case, upper case, characters and numbers makes a strong password 👍
I know I won't remember all, so I just pasted it into a notepad.
That's just it: The new user ID I created didn't generate a password that I know of. It prompts me to enter a password, and nothing works.
Update: Wait. I may have found a workaround. Oh, and I forgot to say thank your for replying, Meina. I really appreciate it.
@Kyle, what do I need to do to get out of the loop I'm in?
Just to be clear, are you saying when you click on Synchronize it asks you to enter a password?
Yes, that's what it was doing. I found my way to Website details and say the Sychronize button there, too. But this time it worked when I clicked on it. My two user IDs are sychronized now. The deal is, I don't remember how I got to Website Details, even though I screen-captured the page--LOL.
Try this way. Go to your Hub, click the three dots and click Website Details. Under Admin details - David, try to Synchronize again.
If still the same, try clearing your browser cache. Then, log out of WA and log in again.
Mine works just fine, so either the problem is on your end or WA.
I discovered it on my own, only now with your instructions I can remember how to get back there. Thank you Meina :-)
Happy to help, David!
