My Progress So Far - Lessons I Have Learned, Challenges I Have Overcome and Accomplishments
Hello my WA family,
It's a long time since I wrote a blog at WA after my first blog. I thought it will be great to let everyone know my progress so far in my online journey and my stay at WA.
I joined WA at the end of July and I got to say things are picking up quickly for my online business and I have learn a great deal of lessons that have changed my perceptions about building an online business. Today I will share with you two lessons I have learn:
Lesson 1: It's About Adding Value Not Selling
This is by far the biggest lesson I have learn so far in my online journey. I remember in one of
the OEC training Kyle used the phrase "You are in the business of helping, not selling". This phrase did not make much sense to me when I first read it.
However, after having an encounter with one of my customers through the exchange of comments on one of my post on my website. The phrase You are in the business of helping, not selling hit me like a ton of bricks and the phrase begin to make sense to me.
Without getting into a long story. I will make it short for you guys. One of my customers asked me if there were alternative products to the niche that I was promoting. I had no clue but I didn't want to ignore her comment or answer with a simple sentence like "I'm not sure" or "I have no clue". Instead, I went away and did an in-depth research and gave my customer the answer she needed.
Not only was it a Win-Win situation but the customer gave me a new keyword that I have never thought about. This new keyword was so low and had few competitions when I did my research at Jaaxy.
When I managed to write a new post about this low hanging fruit keyword on my website. I got indexed in google the following day. For me that was priceless. From that moment onwards I have taken the phrase You are in the business of helping, not selling very serious.
Lesson 2: You Need To Be UP To Date
My second lesson I have learn is that you need to be up to date with what is going on in the online world. In the online world, information travels like the speed of light. Things are always changing and it's important to stay alert so that you don't end up making mistakes. For example, google + is going to close soon and that means a change in tactic in how to get indexed in google quickly and gaining authority over your niche.
Since this lesson is so important to me, I always try to watch videos and read blogs from other WA members and experts who knows more about the internet world. For example, I love reading Kyle, Carson and Jay's latest posts because they always have gold nugget in them. This could really improve your business tremendously.
A good example is when I watched Jay's video about how to index your post quickly in google. I went and apply it to all of my contents and within 24hrs all my contents will index in google and some on the first page.
It was like magic! Just put it this way, information in the online world is equivalent to money. The more information you don't know about the online world the more you are loosing money on the table. As Robert Kiyosaki said 'what I know makes me money but what I don't know looses me money'.
My Biggest Challenge: The 1,000 Words
The biggest challenge I have faced in building my online business is writing 1,000 words for every post. During the training, Kyle encourages us to write at least 1,000 words for every content we write. The first time I heard that, my mind went blank and I was completely clueless.
I thought and thought about how I was going to write my first post. But nothing came into my mind and this lasted for two weeks. However, with enough encouragement from my network, friends and families, I managed to write more than 900words for my first post.
The solution for writing 1,000 words pop into my mind one day when I was relaxing. Basically, the idea was simply. All I have to do is write 500 words in a day and do the same for the next day. Which means by two days I will have written 1,000 words. When I applied this technique I managed to write about 1,200 words. From that day onwards I have applied this technique and managed to get to the 1,000 words mark.
Furthermore, it has boosted my confidence in writing posts with ease and I have managed to publish at least one post every week on my website. Sometimes two. Which is an incredible achievement for me personally. This is because English is not my strongest subject.
I think writing 1,000 words is more of a mental challenge than intellect. You have to overcome that small voice in your head that keeps telling you that 'you can't do it' or 'writing a 1,000 words is too long'.
Accomplishment:
It's now time to share with you guys what I have accomplished so far:
- Publish 15 posts on my website
- All of my contents I have published on my website have been indexed in Google, Yahoo and Bing
- Google - Three of the post have reached page one
- Yahoo - Eight of the post have reached page one (it's seems Yahoo loves me:) )
- Bing - Five of the post have reached page one
- Finished level 3 training and I am about to complete level 4
What Next:
I am pretty sure that most of you reading already know my next goal. And that is to start getting consistent traffic to my website and hit my first sale. It will be nice if I could hit my first sale by the end of the year to finish the year strong. :)
I hope you guys enjoyed reading my progress report. All the best to everyone on your online journey. If you have any questions or would like to leave a comment below - that would be awesome! Thanks.

Great blog Kuu. Writing blogs here on WA is just good practice for our own sites. You get great feedback from people who have been doing this for longer than you and I. Best of luck!
Thanks Thompson. You are 100 percent right. It's all about perfect practice and WA deliveries all the resources to do so. A good example is site comments which always delivers good comments from people. Same to you as well.

I am so impressed with how far you have come, Kuu. When I first met you, some weeks ago, I was concerned that you would have a really hard time. You certainly have shown determination and the willingness to work for results. You have done some things I need to do, so now will be following your lead on a few things. Keep going the way you are and that first sale should arrive before too long.
Thanks Fran. It's very true that I have come a long way but I couldn't have done it without my network encouragement. You have certainly supported me throughout my online journey. I'm forever grateful for that.
I wish you a lot of success in your online business as will. I know you will reach the top some day because you are a good student at WA and hard working person. All the best.
Same to you, Kuu.
