WP Rocket Plug In - Super Speedy Websites
I have never paid much attention to the page loading speed of my websites, but I recently started looking into cache plug ins.
I tried a few that didn't make much difference. I also tried a few that, even when deleted, left garbage behind that caused problems when I tried to install and activate replacements. Thanks to WA support I managed to clear up most of the garbage!
WP Rocket is premium plug-in ($39) and I thought i'd give it a go as it came highly recommended and they have a "money back" offer if it doesn't work. I couldn't get it to work. WA sorted out another garbage plug-in conflict issue, but it still didn't work. After a couple of days emailing WP Rocket support, I gave them access to my site so that they could debug the problem. They eventually found another piece of garbage that a previous cache plug in has left behind!
Hey presto! My site has gone from a page loading speed of 3-5 seconds (with quite big fluctuations) to <1 second (latest post of 2,000 words, 8 images and 4 embedded YT videos loads in about 0.7 seconds).
I will be buying a second licence for my other site on Monday morning.
Might not work for everyone, but this is the best $39 i've spent in a long time!
Edit: I have now disabled this plug in as it was definitely causing a problem with my Amazon cookies. A couple of days after I disabled it, my normal Amazon sales returned.

Thanks for this, I'd just been wondering about all this - perfect timing :)
[I'd be interested to know which plug-ins caused the problems too!]
It was a plug in that was used to automatically use the first post image as featured image as I couldn't be bothered to manually fix the issue. Not a common plug in. Be aware that I am currently deactivating WP Rocket for a few days as I have a concern that it might be interfering with my Amazon aff links. Will report back at the weekend.
That's a pretty good idea you had to have Support clean up any garbage left behind by the other plugins. I've personally stayed away from cacheing plugins, but I know when I had an issue with one and Support fixed it they did mention WP Rocket as one that works with our WP themes. Cool post, brother.

Thanks. A suitable warning to be wary of this problem.
