Don't make the same mistake I made, Could cost you a lot!

I always try to be careful when uploading images to my site from various sources. Being careful to not commit

Bummer Kenneth, I know Michelle just got out of a mess like this too Sorry you have to deal with this. I also always have some doubt in the back of my head, if only this is good...what if...
I work very carefully, but you never can tell if the uploaded images on free stock websites are truly uploaded by the owner.

I hope that you can still get the price down.
I cross my fingers for you.

Thank you!. I was hoping to find an article like this earlier today and came across the article you had written about Getty images

Yes, I did, whatever you do, don't ignore!

Hey Kenneth,

Those of us that have been aware of such an issue since the 90's, have been trying to warn others, but obviously our warnings have gone unnoticed still.

Sorry to learn that you too have had to suffer.

You might want to look into LegalShield as they will help you with this lawsuit once you join their services.

Hopefully my experience will help others. Thought all those sites such as Pixalsl, Pixalbay etc that say Free Images, Free Stock photos, Royalty Free still pose a risk of being sued. With Flickrr under creative commons My understanding is that you just need to give credit to the owner by link. Iam not even sure about that now

Kenneth--this is pretty scary stuff and I certainly hope that it gets resolved for you in a positive manner! Thanks for posting the warning to all of us here!

Jeff

Im pretty shook up over it
Do a search of Pixsy. Lots of info

Thank you for your service. I was Army in 83-89. Medavac. MOS training at FT Sam Houston

Thank you very much for your service, my friend!

Jeff

I will. Thanks for the advice!

Jeff

this is sad, indeed. Thank you for alerting us. I pray that the matter shall be resolved outside the courts of law.
Joseph

Sorry to hear this. Is why I just make simple stick figures, photos & videos and other imagery myself for my websites or sometimes directly hire artists to create custom work for me.

The sad thing is the number of Internet Marketing self-proclaimed gurus contiinually makings videos saying things along the liness of... now we need some nice images... just go to Google and search. Find what you need and take them. I don't know why people think getting images is so hard. I guess they don't know about Google Image Search.

They are putting so many people at risk of lawsuits and massive fines.

And yes I don't trust any of those websites that say the content is royalty free or even paying for rights to use the content. For the simple reason there are many people who TAKE other people's work and then upload it as their own.

Anyway awesome of you to share this and hopefully save some folks from legal trouble in the future.

I thought I was careful. I would used google image search and under tools , under usage rights clicked labled for reuse and even then some images had the disclaimer that the image may be protected. Unless a person acually holds the license for an image they can be liable for copyright infringement even from those royalty free sites etc. Maybe I should go back to stick drawing:) Thanks for commenting
Kenneth

Yeah I get it. It is natural to want to get some nice photos, drawings etc.

The problem is so many websites out there are telling people they can just go to image sharing sites where the creator has uploaded their content giving rights to freely use it. And they are completely missing the point that often the people uploading the content are not actually the people who created it.

Ah well... I think our stick figures and child-like doodles will add a unique touch.

I hope it all works out well for you.

And I tell you... I had actually "loosened up" a bit on this a few weeks ago and used 2 simple sketches from Creative Commons on one of my websites along with the required attribution. Seeing your post I thought ya know it's just not worth it so I removed them just a bit ago.

Hey Kenneth,

Perhaps the following tutorial will provide you with the help you seek: OR, better still... perhaps you mean email marketing. If so, then perhaps the following training would serve you better: Hope you find this helpful.

if you add email subscribers and newsletters you can add a form - collect emails and send them information.
might be worth a look

You’ll need to add a plugin for forms. I don’t know which ones are good though.

Just found a form called Formanator that I can can create a custom form. Just about to look at it. Thanks

I am interested. I need to create a custom form that is a sign up page which will include payment and shipping address and all .that.

I changed my URL. Now what do I need to do. Also , yoast isn't finding my set focus keyword in my content or url. I have checked, double checked and triple checked my focus key

Set up a 301 redirect from the old post to the new post. There's a plugin for that.
That will tell Google that the post has permanently moved and all achieved ranking for the old post will e transferred to the new.

you could also try a redirect.
That means you redirect your old URL to the new one.
There is a plugin for that.

Had you published the post before the change?

yes it was a published page. I should have mentioned that. Thanks

You shouldn't really have changed the URL.
Why Not?

Read this blog of mine -

Having already changed it what should I do. I was thinking of going back to the orginal url but the new url is published. Live and learn by trail and error :)

How long has it been published?

Im guessing 3-4 months ago . maybe 6. No traffic to it

Only thing I can suggest is to delete that old version and resubmit your sitemap in Google Console.

Have you published the post with the new URL?

If so then I would also manually submit your new URL for indexing in Google Console as well.

Don't you think that after a few months you should be getting some visitors?

I think you should rethink your keywords.

I thought I could simply delete the old URL in google tools. My niche is very specific to people traveling with their pet to the state of Georgia. I aimed for low competive keywords most with QSR well under 30. Searches and traffic are low as well but every visitor counts. Pet friendly hotels on Jekyll Island GA gets 152 monthly searches on avg and 26 potential visitors qsr is 0 according to Jaxxy.
Thanks for helping

Keep the old version URL and try the redirect for now and see how it goes.

Hope its ok to ask this in the community. I have submitted my site to site feedback and only have enough credit to receive 4 feedback. I looked at giving back feedback but I do

Looks good, I didn't see a feed back area on your site, I am tired so that's probably my problem.
looks like you did a lot of research
nice

I have left the feedback on site feedback. Hope it helped. You can also request the feedback to this discussion post: Good luck! :D

My site lists pet friendly hotels, restaurants, attractions, pet clinics and daycare for multiple locations in Georgia. I want to set up categories for ex pet friendly restaura

Try to figure out a way that's much friendlier to the reader, so that it is easier for them to find the info they want. Avoid the duplicate situation if possible. I'm guessing that site is pretty old, which is why it worked for them at the time - it wouldn't now.

I would make one post with a listing of pet friendly locations in an approximate 100 mile radius. This will give you an idea of how well it is going to work and then expand from there.
Jerry

I think these keywords are not for the content, but to use for the paid ads. Are you planning to do local marketing and get the commission from each restaurant/company for the traffic? If so, I would just make a page as a directly and link all those restaurants/business.

Thanks for your reply. This is from their website and is used for every location just changing the name of the location :
Dog Friendly Restaurants in Helen, GA
There are 14 pet friendly restaurants in Helen, GA that welcome dogs at their outdoor tables. Need help deciding where to eat? Check out the listings below for a detailed description of each restaurant, along with pictures and reviews from other dog owners who've eaten there. Bone appetit!

I don't recieve any commission from the restaurants Thinking that I could receive traffic for the keyword pet friendly restaurants in xxx place. They're very competitive keywords

Since bringfido is a directory site so duplicate contents may not affect their ranking. If you want to do just like this website, I think you can do it, but just as mentioned, you can create one page directory and link to these companies.
