Three weeks and counting
OK so it's been three weeks since I came up with a niche, created my site, and began sending traffic to www.travelbetterworld.com. I figured I would post in the community blog section some of the mistakes I may have made, which may be helpful to others.
First off I would like to say that this experience has been nothing less than fun for me. It has been said that you should work with a niche that is related to what you have a passion for, this is imperative, and for me Travel, Food and Wine completes my dream of living life to the fullest, do what you love and turn your life dream into a business and in return your business will work for you.
What I believe to be my first mistake was how my site was indexed, the original header was published as travel better world.com I didn't realize that I added the .com in the header so now when searched you find my business by travelbetterworl.com instead of Travel better world, which is how I want to be found.
I have since changed that error and will be creating a massive amount of what I hope to be quality content and then drive a massive amount of traffic to the site and particular webpages so as to hopefully be searched accordingly.
I also wish that I had chosen a theme that allowed me to arrange items within a side bar on my presentation page, in other words I should have done a test drive of the site themes in order to determine what would work best for what my niche represents, however I' am happy with the current set up, which I have received a lot of positive feed back from and I look at it this way, it's a work in progress and with each mistake I learn more and gain enough knowledge to improve and perfect pertinent areas of this site, in order to generate traffic and an audience that will connect with my passion.

Hi Kecia, your site will start to rank for the content you publish. I know you want to be found for a particular keyword, but with the opportunity to rank for multiple ones, the bigger opportunity is in that. Content creation has been and always will be your #1 priority moving forward.
Yes Vitaliy I agree and have determined that at least 6 or 7 blogs per month will help me rank and be found with ease ...content is key
absolutely Kecia. I personally aim for at least 1 blog post per day for the fastest results. It's tough at first, but it does get easier.
I wish I could do that too, however I'm gone 12 hrs out of a day 2 hours in travel time the other time working so I try as I might to get out as many blogs as I can for now, but as soon as I can leave the 9 to 7, I will be on a roll :)
