The ABC's of Connecting Online

WHY ARE WE HERE?

We are all here because we are enterprising individuals who want to make the most of our lives. In doing so, we are seeking ways to maximize our time with our families and breaking out of the traditional mode to earn a living online, rather than being constrained by a particular shift at work or even working in a traditional environment. To me, reading the blogs is a thought provoking activity, perhaps providing insight or perspective that has you looking at things from a different point of view.

HOW CAN WE MAXIMIZE OUR EFFICIENCIES?

Many of us still go to that traditional 'job' 5 or more days a week, and steal time in the evenings, on our days off, or on our lunch hours to try and learn what we need to know to succeed in seeking our fortunes online. This level of dedication is what it will take to bring our dreams to fruition, and earn us the time and freedom to pursue the things in life that make us happiest.

BRAINSTORMING: THE ABC'S OF WHERE TO GET CONNECTED

Please feel free to add to this list in the comments. I'm hoping to 'plant the seed' of where you can go to get connected, even if you just have a spare half hour or hour long lunch break to tweak your websites, work on writing an article or blog, or are stealing time between appointments for the day.

A: Airports

B: Bus (Hey, someone else is driving, take advantage of it!)

C: Café (Internet Cafe's are the latest and greatest businesses cropping up all over town)

D: Doctor/Dentist office (They ALWAYS make you wait, don't they?)

E: Everywhere your phone allows you to connect! :) Do you have a 'smart phone'?

F: Farmer's Market (I kid you not, I was sharing Wealthy Affiliate at one just yesterday!)

G: Golf course (Do you have time to check an email between tee times?)

H: Home office (Where most of us are operating daily)/Hotels (Home away from home)

I: Ice Rink (I am totally into hockey, and yes, the rinks have WIFI connections!)

J: Jail? (Ok, well, I hope we aren't there, but I think it is still a possibility for connecting!)

K: Kitchen (You don't have to work in the office. It is possible to cook at be connected!)

L: Library (It is where I am, right now! Plan an hour at the library into your errands of the day!)

M: Malls or Markets (Let the kids shop while you work on your laptop or tablet)

N: Nightclubs (Ok, we've all had a boring date, right? lol You have your phone with you to check email, if nothing else!)

O: Opticians (I had the best experience sharing my WA dream while getting glasses! My "NEW" vision!)

P: Planes (Do you commute or travel for business?)

Q: Quiet areas (Anyplace you can just 'get away'.)

R: Runs (Ok, this may seem far fetched, but this is where I do my best thinking. On a walk, exercising, even driving. When you stop for a break, send yourself a note to follow up on later!)

S: Stores ( (Barnes & Noble is one of my favorite places to sit down with my laptop!)

T: Trains (or subways!) Make the most of the time you have!

U: University campus (There are nice settings where you are going to just blend right in with the students, pull out your laptop and enjoy the environment!)

W: Where did I miss? (You tell me in the comments below!)

X: (The saying goes, "X- marks the spot!" Where is YOUR favorite place to connect?"

Y: Youth Centers (Let the kids play while you get some time for your activities)

Z: Zoo (Ok, I haven't put that one to the test yet, but I know that sometimes home feels like a zoo, does that qualify?)

The point is, you can be anywhere these days and get connect. Maximize your time by planning your errands on a calendar. Utilize that time between appointments, shopping trips, or chauffeuring the kids to their activities. Staying focused is how we are all going to help each other be a success!

I look forward to your thoughts. My time at the library is up, time to get groceries!

Have a great day!

Kim

Very interesting blog post, Kim, thanks so much!! :))

You are welcome, Jewel. :)

Great list of ideas. I have been spending a lot of time at doctors offices, and have started taking a notepad and pen with me. I see some more areas where I can add some of your ideas.

Add the Kenai Peninsula to that list under (Anywhere!) Well, with the notepad and pen, at least. Weather is great and it is beautiful. :) Thanks for commenting, Don! I haven't been fishing yet, but I'll let you know! :)

Kim

Send me pics, I'll post them to my site. Most of all have a great and safe trip.

Thanks Kim

Will do! I'll be in touch :)

Thanks, Jean! :)

Waiting at school pick ups. The train add you say, I built whole websites on the train

That shows you are maximizing your efficiency! :)

Kim, why do you require more groceries? You made gourmet ready before ingredients!!

Thanks, SridharRay! What a great analogy. I'm pleased that you dropped by and to make your acquaintance.

Me too Kim. I like people who keep schedules and make progress. Good luck to you.
