I put a misc text widget in my side bard and put the code to an ADSense ad in it. However the box is blank on my website. Why would it do that?
Why is my ad not showing in sidee bar text widget?

That happened to me before and mine was just a silly mistake but maybe it will help you. After you add something into a text bow, you have to scroll down and click on the save button before you put the text box back where it belongs. Hope this helps
I actually have an even funnier reason. I had an ad blocker on in my browser. So the ad shows but Safari was blocking it lol
Haha! I'm so glad you two were having this conversation publicly! I just spent the last HOUR trying to get the text widgets to work. I just checked Ad Block, and it was on! Lesson learned....

For example there's an offer a loan. Can my ad go directly to the loan or do I have to make a page to link the ad to then put the link to the loan on my landing page?
Thank you so much! I've been searching and searching and for the life of me could not find that answer lol

The page is Scam-Or-Nah.com/Your-first-50. It's not converting. What do you recommend I change? What's working? What isn't? I'll be more than happy to review your website :
I reviewed your $50 page earlier today. It really felt super scammy to me...like you were recommending something that I felt wasn't OK. This could tinge your whole website with doubt. That ain't good. There was not much on that review that would make me trust it.
Thank you for alerting me to that. Since I know what the offer was and I knew it was legit I didn't look at from the visitor's point of view. I have since changed the page to add more of an explanation so that its not so vague. If you have time can you look at the updated page and tell me if seems less scammy? I did notice that that one page had a different feel than the whole website. So I tried to make it match the tone of the other pages.
Hi - from an aesthetic point of view - I believe the current recommendations are for larger text, that's easier to read.
I change (in my local browser) the size of your text from 14px to 18px - and for me, it looked far more easy to read.
You should be able to amend this (if you agree) from Appearance -> Editor -> style.css
Look for:
body {
margin: 0;
font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
font-size: 14px;
line-height: 20px;
color: #333;
background-color: #fff;
}
and change the font-size to:
font-size: 18px;
I hope this helps?
All the best, Mark
Thank you Mark. I just changed the theme of my page and I'm going to play around with different themes to see which one I like the best, but I will definitely make the changes to the font size. Thank you for showing me where it is in the editor. Now I might be able to figure out how to make other changes there as well.
You're welcome Kierra.
If you need any help with CSS/HTML etc - let me know, and I'd be happy to help.
Cheers, Mark
Kierra, tell visitors more about the company you are promoting. How long have they been in business. What due diligence have you done? Have they already paid you, etc. Why are you confident about them.
Perhaps explain about the products on offer and why you are using that free gift gaming page to invite them in. Is it just about gaming products? Your visitor needs to know that. If there are other products on offer, the visitor needs to know that. For example some people are not interested in gaming products - I am one of them. But I might be interested in other types of products.
In your About page you say that you will review sites to help readers make a decision. I don't see any reviews on your website.
Where are you up to in the WA lessons? Are you doing Affiliate Bootcamp as well? As you absorb the training and apply what you learn, especially how to do reviews, you will know exactly what you need to do to improve your results. ~Jude
Thanks so much Jude. The posts I put up are supposed to be reviews, but looking back at them I realized I haven't been putting whether or not what I'm posting on is a scam or not. Such as a final verdict type thing. I think I will go back and add that to my posts, but I also think I need to update my about page because I'm going to be doing more than just reviews. I think I was just expecting results in a week when it totally does NOT work that way. This is a complete learning curve. I just need to keep reminding myself Rome wasn't built in a day and consistency is key.
Kierra, the line that kills the deal is ---> Wait until you receive my confirmation email so I can give you the remaining two steps and you can get your $50. I can't answer for anyone else that sees/reads this post, but for me it is a flashing "yea, right" sign. My opinion you will have better luck telling a semi-long story about how you were struggling to make ends meet until someone told you about WA. Then your life changed..
I hope this helps.
Ken
Thank you so much for your feedback. I just revised the page and went into detail about what exactly was going on so there was no question in what I was doing. When I looked at it I realized how it could come off as scammy because I was pretty vague about the whole process. If you have time, can you look at the revised page and tell me what you think?
