Pretty Pretty Pictures!

Goodness, gracious!

Talk about taking a day to make things all tidy and formed up. I started in the second Phase of the Bootcamp today, and noticed something. I am already in the habit of adding images to pages, and links as well ... but I went back and added a few more images to the half bare pages.

Too much of a good thing?

Can you have too many pictures to get the readers eye? Maybe they should all be the same era of style? I have no idea, but I added ones that fit the topics and headings. I would love some feedback if anyone has taken a peek at my Success 2013 site, as I am a bit unsure of myself still.

Pretty (hidden) Links

Tomorrow (if I am not drug to town by family once again for half of the day), I hope to go through the few pages I have already and make Section 2 of Phase 2 all perdy with the rest of it! Can we tell I'm a bit excited to find all these little gems and trinkets of tips to try out?

Kudos!

Many thanks and kudos, and maybe even a cookie too! Those go out to everyone that I have met thus far, as you are all such an inspiration to me. Jackie and Kali - extra cookies for you both! You help me smile and see that I am not alone with some things. Kyle and Carson - SUCH an inspiration in all that you have created and share with us all. Hundred's of others that are just as wonderful - you help me when I need that added boost of creativeness, as well as answers and direction.

Kham, your profile image caught my eye long ago. Am sure each of your images on your site must be of the same quality. Kudos to all of us here in the WA community who continue to inspire.

You are so right on the Kudos to every single person that gives inspiration to others, as well as a shoulder to lean on when needed too. Thank you for the compliments as well

Your welcome. Am still a rookie at creating, gathering and posting web images. With determination, am like the 'Little Engine That Could".

Hi Kham. Good post. I'm still excited about putting an image into my blog on this site. Little things... x

You are SO right! It really is the little things like that that are treasures to keep us moving forward.

Not seen your site but make sure to let is know what you discover about having lots of pictures on your site, I've seen very good sites that have a different picture for each post so I'm sure you will be more than fine!!

Thank you for that tip of encouragement ~smiles~ I added the site in a reply, and it's also in my Website section of my profile. You are more than welcome to check it out if you wish

10/10 for a really nice theme you have there kham,,,, Im going to be looking to do the same thing for sure..... if only someone could help me where to find those brilliant images hmmm.... lol. I havent read everything (no time) but it looks great

I can't remember just what images topic I had seen this link in when I was searching here for image ideas, but I saved it ~smiles~ I tend to use mostly the Microsoft Office images lower in the page, but there are some good ones you can find here - http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000845.htm ... hope that helps, and thank you for the site compliments!

Kham

Compliments yes but i hope it also gives you encouragement!! ;) thankyou for the link... im currently trying to do my About me page and i want to be sick ugh!!

I like pictures on a website, and gravitate to those with good pictures (not cartoons so much), that are subject oriented. I'm not even there yet, but can't wait for that part, since I feel that's what makes it looks professional, like a real website. I would love to see your site, I'm curious of what others are doing, and hopefully get motivated by it, especially the newer people. How do I access Success 2013?

I have it in the My Websites section of my profile here, but I brought over the link directly as well ~smiles~ http://success2013.khameleonkitten.com is the site I am fiddling with at the moment. The parent site is still in the "raw" stage

Thanks, it looks good, but I'll have to read it later. I skimmed the paragraph headings and it really looks like info I could use someday, of course I can use any info at this point, I don't even know how to get pics from my camera to the computer, but I'll figure it out someday, probably when I HAVE to do it. I also like how your WA review seems to flow right into it all. Anyway, I'll read it tonight, but it looks real good. Are the missing blocks, pictures to come? I don't usually like cartoony pics, but it fits well with what you're writing. I don't like it for stuff like food, if it's food, I want to see real food, stuff like that.

Hmmm ... not sure why there are missing blocks for you. When I look at the site all of the images show up, though there are 2 that are super simple ones in the post about Images being Creative. I'm glad you like it other than that ~smiles~ I tend to like a somewhat lighter look to images as I am a bit playful and animated in person, and they say to write as you talk.

No, the pictures still aren't showing, I counted 17 of those red Xs with empty boxes. Maybe it's my computer, it's been acting up lately, but I don't know why it would show some and not others. You should have someone else check it out and see if they're getting the same thing.

I had Medic look at it, and a couple of family members on various different browsers. They all said the images show up for them :-/ Not sure why they are broken for you.

I think I might need to have my computer looked at, it's been slowing down, and doing some weird stuff lately, I'll add this to the list when I bring it in. I had a virus once before, so hopefully thant's not the case this time. At least it's good for you, that your site is good, and now I know I have yet another problem with this thing. I guess I'll move that up on the priority list.

My hubby actually commented tonight that we have to start saving for me a new laptop as well. I have to do a restart sometimes twice a day or the pages go wonky while I work on things. I know it's frustrating in the highest order when we are trying to live from our pc's working right.

Me too. Now that you mention it, I've had to totally shut down twice in the last couple of weeks, same thing, it was doing all this weird stuff, like showing half a page, etc. I've always hated this computer. I got it new when Vista was out, so had no choice but to get Vista, which I've never liked. It's not that different, and I'm used to it now, but my laptop has windows 7, and I like it much better.

I use this desktop mostly because I took in a feral cat and her 4 kittens, like the 5 I had at the time weren't enough. She is the sweetest cat ever, but is still half wild, mainly because of my one cat who hates her, but I have a double desk upstairs, and this is the only place where she feels safe and will come to me, so I've given up my computer room to my little wild things, now I have hair on my monitor and mousepad, a litterbox in the closet, and cat food at the end of the one desk, not to mention them all walking back & forth in front of me when I'm trying to do something important, and when she wants attention, she steps on my shoulder and bites me in the head, not hard, but like to say "hey, pet me already". Oh well, I love them to death, and I guess that's the price you pay. Anyway, how'd I get talking about my cats? Well, it's dinnertime, so guess I better go eat and get everyone fed. Have a good one.

I used to have a couple of kittens I fostered after they were rescued from a tree that were about the same way. Only, when they wanted attention was when you were standing and cooking - so they would climb UP your leg and sit on your shoulder. At even the 10 pounds the one kitty got to be (huge cat, I know), it was not a fun experience I tell ya.

My desktop's still Vista too, though I didn't mind it too much (until I was forced to get a laptop upgrade just so I could teach my mom how to fix her new one with Win 7). Now I prefer 7, and the desktop has a blown Video card (not 2 months after replacing a blown Hard Drive) - huge costly paperweight. Ah well, when cash comes in again then up to Win 8 we both go it seems ~smiles~

I think I might get a new desktop when the windows 8 comes out, we'll see. I want an ipad mini, so that will be first, unless something happens, and this thing blows up or something. All this stuff, and I don't even do much with it other than email, and Pinterest (my newest addiction).

I love kittens, and I've had them climb my leg before too, it's OK in jeans, but not in shorts or light material, so I put a stop to it once they drew blood. I have one white cat that is huge too, I don't even know how much she weighs. I have 8 cats, all female except one, and she bigger than them all.

Well, it's been great talking to you. I've decided I'm not going near this computer until tonight so I can get some housework done. Everyone is shedding, even the dogs, and there's hair everywhere, so it's not something I should do anymore, it's something I HAVE to do. Have a good day and weekend. Hope to talk to you again.
