Hi, my name is Cindi, and I'm back after a year, so I'm now 60 (ulk!). I'm still female, etc., some things just don't change. I'm living in Colorado Springs, CO, which I love, even though it's not like it use to be, but what is. Even so, I wake up each morning to a view of Pikes Peak, so you can't beat that. I retired after 20 yrs in the Air Force, went back home to San Diego, worked in the jail 1 yr, retired from the court system in San Diego after 10 yrs, moved to Colorado and worked for the Dept of Corrections, DAs office, and Dept of Revenue but people are wanting more and more and don't want to pay you what you're worth, or treat you right, so I finally said that's it, there has to be something better out there. Then a few months into doing this with WA, I decided I still needed to work, so got a PT job at a rehab hospital, but after a year, it ended up pretty much the same, too much work, not enough pay, etc., and working until 10PM just wasn't doing it for me, so I figured I'd give this another try. I just signed up for a year, so I'm committed this time, but then the need to get up, put on makeup, drive through the snow, hail, etc., and go to work every day is gone, so I'm hoping this is what I need. I've been sitting around for months now, so this doing nothing stuff is for the birds.

I'm still doing this antique mall, I barely make the rent, but it's fun, and I've met some really nice people, even so, I may not do it much longer, we'll see how it fits in with this, besides, it's more like a hobby, and it gives me a paycheck in the middle of the month, which is nice. I still plan to volunteer somewhere, but I want to devote my time to WA for now, and see if I can figure any of this out. I have two dogs & 8 cats, so I don't guess I'll be volunteering at a cat shelter after all, I seem to pick up enough on my own, I'd end up taking half the shelter home with me.

I was married once about 25 yrs ago for 3 yrs, no kids, didn't like being married so didn't do it again. I own my home, do some crafts, paint, make jewelry, etc., dichroic glass, some stained glass, ceramics, and recently started to sew again, I haven't done that since high school. I have an electronic keyboard, and hope to learn to play something more than Chopsticks on it someday. I just bought a 2011 Nissan Xterra, I've always wanted one, and my Jeep was falling apart, hail damage, etc., so I just did it, so now I'm broke again. Whatever, money comes and goes, hopefully it will come again now that I'm here. I love to travel and do day trips. Missed the Arts Festival last year in Crested Butte, but if I have the money, I'm considering driving to Cheyenne, Wyoming for Frontier Days this summer, we'll see, at least if I do, I'll have a cool vehicle to do it in.

I hate living on a budget so need more income, and more control, this getting layed off because of the budget is nuts, and having to quit because they're making my life miserable, well, that's just wrong and not something I want to deal with again. Oh yeah, and I talk a lot, hopeful that's a benefit here, since it's not anywhere else, again, that's what you get for hanging out with animals more than people, I'm working on that. Ive been trying for years to find a legitimate business online, doing something I enjoy, and I've lost a lot of money trying, hopefully this is it since this seems different from everything else so I dont think I'll be left hanging, I was in shock when someone actually answered my email, no one ever did that before.

I don't have a picture of myself, and still don't know how to post it, but I did get a camera, and also got a smart phone with a camera, so that won't be far behind. I did trade in my whale pic for these really cool cat eyes though, so that's a start, I mean, it only took me two days to figure that out! High tech I am not. Anyway, getting ready to start again, so wish me luck. I never even read these posts before, things kind of fell apart, with me feeling that I still needed a JOB, but enough is never enough, and either the workforce has changed or I have, either way, I'm past that now. The unknown is a scary thing, but I've done it before, so I'm sure if I stick with this, I'll be glad I did. I appreciate all the encouragement, and hope to talk to you all soon.

Thanks alot, just read your profile, and I feel we're kind of on the same track, except you're much further along than me. I didn't learn much before, since I quit to take a job, but now I'm totally committed for the next year, and see where I end up. Hope things are going well for you, and we can both be a success soemday.

I hope you're right about my history and all being a benefit. I kind of dropped out before I got started, so I'm back for good this time, it's this or nothing, and I've been doing nothing for awhile now, it's no fun. Anyway, I never replied to this, better late than never. Hope you've been successful in WA, that's my plan, but I really want to get involved more with the community this time. Anyway, good luck.

Hi, I'm just answering posts from a year ago, kind of dropped out to go to work, but now I'm back, no more regular jobs for me if I can help it. I saw your profile, what a cute little dog, is that a Yorkie? Sooo cute. Anyway I hope you're having success with WA, I plan to take is real slow this time around, and learn all I can, so I'm committed for a year, we'll see where I'm at next year. Anyway, good luck to you.

Hi labman, just answering posts from a year ago, before I quit, better late than never. Check out my profile pic, it turned out perfect, so thank you so much for your help. Well, have a few days of stuff to do, that comes at the beginning of each month, plus taxes to do, so will probably start training later this week, I can't wait. Thanks again, and good luck to you.

Hi, I'm just answering my posts, a year late. I didn't even know they were there, then I quit WA to go to work, shortly after starting, but quit that recently, the workforce isn't what it use to be, and working PT is even worse, so that's it for me. Just signed up with WA for a year, so plan to devote the next year to learing enough to supplement my retirement income. I'm not ahead of the curve, as you are, since I come into this knowing absolutely nothing, but learning is learning, and that's what I plan to do for the next year, so we'll see where I'm at then. Good luck in your endeavors, sounds like you've got it together pretty good, I'm just hoping to be further each month than I was the month before, I'll call that success.
