How Can We Help Each Other When Starting With Amazon Associates?
Hello all my fellow wealthy affiliates. I have seen a couple of posts over the past 24 hours that have discussed people losing their privileges to offer products through the Amazon Associates program because of a lack of sale over the first six months.
I too am currently in a similar situation. I have a site that I started with the intent of promoting Amazon products, but it has yet to generate any sales. Now, I will admit that I haven't been putting much focus onto this particular site much over the past couple of months, but I do have plans to go back to it at some point when time permits. I would hate to think that the work that I've already put in could be lost because of a lack of that first sale - I'm sure you feel the same way about your sites.
Now, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that there are quit a few of us that buy stuff pretty frequently from Amazon. Since we are unable to use our own affiliate links when we order, maybe we can look for other WA members that are in need of their first Amazon sale and use one of their affiliate links prior to placing our orders.
My initial thoughts are that people can leave a comment that they are in need of their first sale, and when someone is ready to buy something from Amazon they can PM that person to get an affiliate link to follow (I know we can't put that in the comments as that would be considered SPAM.) Once the purchase is made a reply should be left letting others know that a purchase was completed and that member now has received a sale from their affiliate link.
These are my thoughts and I think a lot of people might benefit from this. If we're going to be buying something anyways, why not help each other out in the process.
I'd love to hear any suggestions or feedback.
Kevin

I have had this problem for quite some time. This sounds like a great idea. I would love to do that. Maybe we could get each others e-mail. Thanks for your idea. You might need to check with Kyle first.
I always wondered if anyone else had this issue. I'm also waiting on my first sale. Hell, I'm probably only looking at about 10 clicks over the past two months which seems insane to me. It almost makes me wonder if the clicks aren't transfering over to amazon or something. Even without a purchase, would anyone mind clicking a few links as a test? Thank you. itsthemilkyway.com
Thanks to tbart33, we were able to help each other and get the first sales to our Amazon Associates account. I just received my approval email from Amazon today. I really hope more people are able to help each other out to get their Amazon accounts approved.
Great idea. I am in the same boat. If anyone is planning on making an amazon purchase and could use my link I would be happy to return the favor on my next amazon purchase. Send me a PM and we can exchange links.
I'm going to be placing a small order on Amazon today and would be happy to help someone with their first affiliate sale. Please PM your link to me in the next few hours if you're interested. I will use the first one that I receive.
Great idea, Kevin. Though it doesn't work for me in return living in europe, I'll be thankful for support. First I have to go back an reapply and replace the links...
I would be happy to help and would appreciate the favor returned. Shoot me a PM and we can exchange links.
Good idea. I have a niche site that offers hard to find ingredients for ethnic food recipes. My site is just now starting to get some sales "trickling in" but I could use some support, for sure, and would gladly return the favor to anyone who sells stuff that I could use and would buy anyway. BTW, I just posted a blog relevant to this one, at: Working with the Amazon Associate Program with a Startup Site

I would really appreciate some help getting my first sale. My site is rhythmgaming.com Like posted above, if someone was already planning on buying something on amazon it'd be great if someone could use one of my product links.
