Vex Robotics Year #2!
Well Robotics season 2 started off pretty well! Landon didn't take home first place but definitely better than last year so I know he is progressing in the correct way!!
Last year he made it to the final round because the older girls from the same school chose his team to partner with in the finals. So they sort of got lucky with that last year! This year his team made it all the way to the championship all due to their hard work and practice.
I sure hope he sticks with it because "Vex Robotics" have some awesome sponsors that I am sure you all are aware of! We all as parents want the best for our children and college is NOT getting any cheaper so I hope to see him get a scholarship.

There are so many others to mention but I know these where the top 3 that I was made aware of. Landon has one more year in middle school then off to high school, and let me tell you the high schoolers have some seriously challenging bots! We where fortunate enough to go and enjoy a nice Italian lunch down in St. Louis at a very good restaurant that Melissa (wife) and Landon have not tried before.
Until then you all have a wonderful and safe rest of your day!

Had dinner about 20 years ago with my brother at that Psghettis after the bowling year ended.

You must be from my neck of the woods than lol. I'm about 45 minutes north west of that however.
I went there about ten years ago for lunch and forgot about it until this past Saturday so took the family.

25 minutes south on 21. Been here 23 years.
My son is studying computer science in college. Wants to be a programmer.
Building robots and programming go together most of the time.

Been down Tesson Ferry numerous times for jobs lol. A little bit of a haul for me especially hitting 270 north in traffic and 141 isn't much better.

We get up your way when we go Eagle watching in January each year. Most of the time we go all the way to Keokuk and come back 79.

I will be sharing in blog tomorrow because after lunch we did the same. We were going to go to Clarksville but we hit the river in St. Peters off hwy C. Then went to the fairy in Winfield off 79 since we don't live far from that lock and dam. We took some pictures because there was so many.
In the early 90's I worked at 79 and 70 and lived in St. Peters off of Mexico road. Would be real close if I still lived there.
Turn left on Mexico rd cross creek and I lived on the right. Mexico rd was 2 lane tar and rock when I move there. So busy now. Moved to FL in 96, back to Hillsboro mo in 01.
Hwy K use to be the same. I rode in the back of my dad's Elcamino with no camper shell down that road. I grew up down Feise road and K.
Landon certainly seems to be progressing well in the Robotics world Kevin!
Those are some big hitting sponsors there and I wish the lad all the very for the future!!
Appreciate the update here my friend and enjoy the start of your week! :-)
That's great and congratulations to Landon. Thanks for sharing this wonderful tribute and pictures with us.

Awesome, Kevin! my third ex wife is a science teacher, and she does robotics too!

It's really neat. Bad part is it's so expensive for schools to provide all the equipment (parts, tools, motors, software, ect).
I think they may do some fundraisers this year for next year. Some had problems with the motors over heating due to wear and tear.

I sure hope that the schools can raise the money for that, Kevin!
